Introducing K9 Chester💙💙💙💙💙🇺🇸🙌🏽

Hi, I'm K9 Chester! I'm certified in tracking and narcotics detection for the Cook Sheriff's Office Illinois. I am a tall yet gentle giant; you can say I'm a people's K9. I work inside and around the jail most of the time, but if there's a big event, you can bet that I'll be there. When I'm not working, I enjoy playing in the yard and keeping a lookout for any squirrels or rabbits that might be lurking around.

The law enforcement community has lost a legend in the K9 world with the passing of Clint Hestand. Clint's dedication and expertise have left a lasting impact on many departments, including ours.
The Cave City Police Department Kentucky is honored to have two working dogs from Clint, K9 Jax and K9 Mako, with Mako being the last working dog he put on the streets. His legacy will live on through the incredible K9s he trained. Rest in peace, Clint. Please keep his wife and family in your prayers during this difficult time.

We are mourning the loss of K-9 Deputy Rudy, who became suddenly ill on Friday, June 14 from an unexpected, rare, and unpreventable condition. Despite emergency treatment and his characteristic determination, Rudy lost his battle and died early on Saturday morning, June 15, with his devoted MCSO handler by his side.

Rudy was a four-year-old German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mixed breed, born on September 11, 2019. K-9 Deputy Rudy excelled at tracking in some of the most challenging conditions. What made K-9 Rudy really special was his dynamic personality of not only being a serious K-9, but also a very social and fun member of our Patrol Unit family. Rest easy, K-9 Rudy.

Sending our deepest condolences, Rest In Peace K9 Zar.🐕💙🙏🇺🇸

NEWBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania, beloved K-9 Zar died Tuesday.

Zar was a 5-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois-German Shepherd mix with the Newberry Township Police Department.

Officers said Zar's ability to breathe was obstructed when an object became lodged in his throat during a training exercise at his handler's home.

His handler attempted life-saving measures and rushed him to a veterinary clinic, but Zar couldn't be resuscitated.

After his death, Zar was provided a police es**rt to honor his life and service. It allowed him one final ride past the police department he served.

Zar was with Newberry Township police for four years and was trained in suspect apprehension, narcotics detection, article searches, handler protection and patrol activities. Police said Zar's service protected dozens of officers and removed countless amounts of harmful drugs from the streets of our community.

One of his accomplishments included locating a firearm that was used during an attempted homicide and later discarded from a vehicle into heavy brush in 2021.
