I am so happy to have the herd that we love so much going to such a caring final destination.

The Kune community had continued to support me and I will be forever grateful.

We appreciate this opportunity High On The Hog Farm KuneKune Pigs!!

We are very very excited to be working collaboratively with Lilly of Colorado Kunes and Cows to aid in her herd dispersal. We will be taking 6 of her hogs to process next month along with our 6!!
This both helps bring ease of mind all hogs are humanely placed and will provide valuable information in carcass evaluation of lines not associated with our own, with the exception of one who has lineage 3 generations back.
To be able to work with others in this capacity toward a common goal is extremely fulfilling and benefits everyone involved!

Goodbye 👋

This is a very hard post for me to make and one I've been avoiding for a while. I've posted on account every few days for the past six years! Wow! I feel honored to have had the opportunity to raise the animals I love so much, build a network of valued customers and friends and share this passion with all of you!

I started Colorado Kunes and Cows when I was twelve years old. Little me could never have imaged how far she'd come. We went from a small breeding trio flown to us from Virginia, to a breeding herd of over eight quality boars and sows ranging from Pennsylvania, Colorado, Oregon, California, and Nevada. We have definitely had so some ups and downs, and I've always tried to be very truthful on this account so many of you know, but it was all so so worth it.

However, I am leaving.

I just got accepted to Colorado State University and will be leaving next fall to college! I'm majoring in Natural Resources Tourism: Global Concentration. If you're wondering why I'm signing off now, we just sold our last piglet!! Since Colorado Kunes and Cows began we've sold over 95 piglets! But now that our last piggy is gone and our last steer has been processed there is little left to advertise.

We are keeping all of our sows and boars for the time so you won't see any of them for sale. They are too special to us to let go of and all are nearly too old to continue breeding anyway. Also, I will keep posting some until I leave but not like I usually do. And I won't be selling any more but I do have a few close breeders and dear friends that I am always happy to recommend, just reach out.

Speaking of which, I could not have done any of this without all of you. I'm pretty sure I lived on the "KuneKune Pig Health" page for my first few years; asking all of you questions. Since then I have met some incredible people that I will remember long after I've left. Thank you to everyone who has ever supported me, you've meant so much.

Today was a great day!

Two of my favorite boars, Jagger and Snoopy, sold today! Along with these two we have two gilts going as pets and a beautiful breeding quad soon! Four steers are also headed to processing this weekend.

Despite our every effort we lost this little gilt today. She was born with detached lungs and fought for so long. She wasn’t in any pain just very weak. She brought us so much joy but is now in a happy place.

Yesterday was a crazy day! Let me fill you in:

Fiona farrowed! Finally! She had a litter of five piglets and thank goodness this time she has milk and plenty! Most from this litter will be paired as barrows with our available trios. Alsoooo, we put our tiny gilt from Elsie's litter on Fiona! At four weeks old our "Little Bit" is only three pounds despite hourly feeders from us :) But so far she has adjusted nicely to Fiona and her litter.

We moved everyone else out to bigger pasture! Has anyone ever put two four week old litters together? Penny and Claire are now together. The piglets share mamas a bit but seem to be splitting piglets between them fairly.

We also prepped our sweet Mousie and Pinkie for their new home. We are going to miss them very much as they were such a big part of our lives for so long.

Finally, now that all litters have arrived I will be posting available trios and quads! We are very excited to advertise for the first time. We have some true beauties. Stay tuned!
