I won’t complain again. Literally all my posts are about the weather! 🤣
Even though it’s raining spring is in full force 🌼🌸and I’ve managed to get some super cute pictures! ❤️

👇 this was me 6 years ago today.
Brand new clean clothes, white trainers 😳, fresh faced and not a clue what was in store for me. 🤣
This job is hard, i mean it’s really hard at times. It’s wet and its muddy, I spend most of my life covered in mud & the other half in saliva. 🤣
I mean look at today.
It’s April & I’m getting smashed in the face with hail stones one minute & then the next the sun is so bright I can’t see to take a photo 🤣
But would I change it, HELL NO!
It’s amazing. I’ve been on a hell of a journey & I’ve made best friends with 74 dogs and 15 cat! How crazy is that. Thank you for letting me do the job I love every single day.

Alabama rot is making its way around the UK again.

Alabama rot is a nasty skin disease that can lead to kidney failure and unfortunately there is currently no cure.

At the moment there are no know cases in Bradford but there have been reports in Huddersfield & Leeds.

I just want to make you all aware so you can watch out for any signs and we can all try take precautions to stop it spreading.

It’s unknown exactly where dogs are catching it but MUD seems to be the common factor. Vets are advising us to avoid very muddy woodland areas and to wash down dogs after every muddy walk.

As you all know all my muddy dogs get washed down after each walk anyway but I will be taking extra precautions until this mud goes away!

Please take extra precautions when walking your own dogs. Especially if you walk them in wooded areas.

Early signs of Alabama rot are,
- skin lesions appearing as a distinct swelling, a patch of red skin or open & ulcer like.

If you notice anything like this take your dog to the vet straight away to be checked.

Further signs are,
- Sores & ulcers, usually around paws & legs
- Sores & ulcers on dogs face, mouth, tongue & lower body
- Fur loss around the areas above
- excessive licking
- after 3 days kidney failure will appear (loss of appetite, tiredness & lethargic, vomiting)

Hello February.
I’m so glad to see the back of January and without wishing my life away I cannot wait for some warmer weather! Me & the dogs are sick of the wind, rain & mud. 😫
Have you ever tried to pick up a dog poo in Gail force wind & rain? 🤣🤣
If there’s a competition for this let me know because I’d be an expert 🤣🤣 💪🏼

I can’t recommend Kerry at Rhodes2safety enough for Canine first aid.
She does classes in person or online!
Her dogs are so cute and they help her demonstrate everything from CPR to applying a bandage!
Definitely not just for professional, I’d highly recommend her course.

Tonight at midnight any XL bullies left in a rescue will be put to sleep. 😔
I know hundreds of rescue staff have been working there butts off to find as many as possible a safe forever home so tonight I raise a glass to you. 🥂
Thank you for saving so many innocent lives.

I will also raise a glass to all the XL BULLY owners. Tomorrow hundreds of XL BULLIES lives will change forever. 💔
Please do me a favor. If you see an XL bully. Don’t cross the street. Ask the owner if the dog is friendly & show them some love. ✌️
