Puppy Mills in Virginia.... you bet your ass they are here and guess who they can sometimes sell to. Pet stores. Yes you heard that right. Share far and wide. Stay out of the 20 pet stores which sell puppy mill puppies in Virginia.

Oh look.... now New York joins all the other states and localities where banning pets stores from selling puppies, kittens, and rabbits is now legal. WHY? Because pet stores are involved in extremely cruel practices and source from puppy mills. In 2020, i was proud to help sheppard a Resolution to make December Puppy Mill Awareness month in Virginia. You know who fought us the hardest in the GA, the AKC. Why? Because you can buy a puppy from a pet store and "AKC" register them which means NOTHING. Good responsible breeders would NEVER sell to a pet store. Please remember this and share. Let's make December a puppy mill free holiday season and do not buy puppies or kittens from any of the 20 pet stores in Virginia. BTW- our shelters our bursting at the seams so please adopt. DONT SHOP.

Please take the 2 min it takes to sign onto this bill in Congress. Please let our legislators know that we expect them to protect our voiceless companion animals. This bill has been put forth many years now and has bipartisan support, but we need to increase the overall interest. Please sign and share on social media. This would help protect the tens of thousands of dogs and cats trapped in these horrible mills all across America. These poor pups are kept in extremely cruel situations and surroundings and need our help.

Please make sure that your contact information is current on your pets tags. Walk your fence perimeter and make sure there’s no places to escape. If you find a place and can’t fix it today, put them on a leash and take them out. We lose more animals on the 4th of July than any other day of the year because they get frightened.

Puppy mill puppies stay with their mothers for 8 weeks before they are shipped to stores. This puppy has been living in a pet store cage at the Memphis Petland store for two months - perhaps longer than she was with her own mother. This is no way for a puppy to spend her formative early months, and one of the many reasons why puppies don't belong in pet stores!

I want to thank Delegate Bobby Orrock for not only taking this matter seriously but also given out proper instructions when it comes to cake pops. I had the honor of spending time helping decorate a small part of the Pasadena Humane float in the Rose Bowl Parade this year bc of my good friend Dia Duvernet, Executive Director of Pasadena Humane. “Feed the Love” was their theme and what it honor it was to be involved. Animal advocacy has so many ups and downs that go along with it, a lot of compassion fatigue, and heart ache for those of us that fight so hard but alsways feel like we will never catch up or move the ball down the field very far when it comes to progress. So New Years Day was a great day, as I watched my friend, and her rescue pup from VIRGINIA BEACH, ride in the Rose Bowl Parade !!!!!! ❤️🐶💙
