TNR!

We have seen countless big male kitty’s come into the shelter like this.

When you're trying to stop the unwanted litters, please do not overlook the males. Neuters are a fraction of the cost of spays & the recovery is much faster. One unneutered male can father 2500 kittens a year. You may not be having to deal with the kittens, but your neighbors within a 5-mile radius will. Be part of the solution! 💜

Welcome Sally to the PAAA family. Our new pregnant mama.

Sally headed to a temporary foster home tonight and now the wait begins. The wait for puppies and/or the wait for Sally to be transferred. Sally is on multiple waiting lists with our networking rescues partners to be accepted.

As much as we love mama and puppies and pregnant mamas, we are not setup nor do we have the space and/or the resources to handle mama and puppies for the whole duration of their maternity ward.

But for right now, mama Sally is safe in a warm and quiet home with lots of love and her own space.

It takes a village to save a life and Sally’s story started with a great family saving her.

Meet Poco, Nova, now Ice Ice Baby!

Talk about not giving up, this little kitten who is about 4 weeks old came to us 2 days ago nearly frozen to death. She immediately was seen at Page Animal Hospital. The team worked their magic and brought this kitten back to life. She was placed into a foster home and has really started to thrive in the last 3 days. She still is being monitored closely but I think Ice Ice Baby is going to make a full recovery.

Reason 12,308 to spay and neuter and ANOTHER reason to foster!

About a week ago we noticed Gus was not him self. The left side of his face began to be very droopy and he would stumble when he walked out to his yard. We noticed too his appetite was not the same as before. Gus would run in his kennel and be so excited for dinner or breakfast. We also noticed he would whimper when he ate on the left side, or if he accidentally ran into one of us walking.

This morning we took him in to the great team at Page Animal Hospital. We came to the conclusion Gus has a possible brain lesion/tumor growing causing hypersensitivity on his skin which is very painful. It’s also causing his neurologic symptoms like wobbliness and head tilt. As well as motor function when trying to swallow.

Most likely this has been building for a couple weeks and it was only going to get worse. Natalie and Dr. Backus talked and decided the best thing humanly was to let him go in peace and not suffer anymore.

This morning Gus Crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We will miss him like crazy, he was one of best dogs with the best personality. Gus came to us end of May 2023 and lived a great life with our PAAA family. If you ever met Gus you knew how cool of dog he was.

Fly high Gus Gus 💕🌈 ❤️ We love you.

Gorgeous morning in Page America!

Balloon weekend has officially begun. Have a great and safe weekend with all the activities.

Please remember to keep your pets safe during the mornings when the balloons are flying. Some dogs are terrified when they fly over.

If your pet does go missing please call Animal Control at 928-660-9813 or stop by the shelter.

Harley Quinn you came into our lives for a short period of time and showed us what a gentle soul you were. What life you lived before coming to PAAA we will never know but the time you spent here you received unconditional love, a comfy bed to rest your head, and lots of yummy wet food because you had no teeth.

Fly high our sweet super senior girl. 💕🌈
