About Us

Equine Essential Oils – Equioil - was set up by Fiona and Liz Pope as a mother and daughter business. We are based on the Essex/Hertfordshire borders and have a small yard with our four horses which range from a lovely cob to competition horses. We first came about the concept of a horse massage oil as one of our most dear horses had a terrible accident by falling into barbed wire. Fion

a spent several months working with the Vets nursing Jessie back to health and spending lots of time and physical contact with her to prevent her from going into depression. Fiona thought that using a massage oil on Jessie would be really beneficial for bonding but finding that there was nothing available to buy; decided to produce her own. Fiona sourced the oil and tried out several different oil bases and finally chose a Sweet Almond Oil as the base as its a very light weight oil and is absorbed well into the horse’s skin. We mixed it with essential oils; Lavender, Peppermint, Carrot Seed and Tea Tree which all have there own homeopathic properties. All of our essential oils are from natural plants which horses would come across and eat in the wild and our Equioils are made in the UK. We are very excited as Equioil is a totally new product which has been made especially for you and your horse and we really urge you to try the different ranges of the oils. We are sure that you and your horse will benefit from the bonding experience it offers and will not be disappointed.
