Chicken Noodle left the shelter today!

He is starting his decompression journey with his amazing, devoted foster mom and learning he is safe.

Sweet, timid, exhausted and probably confused… this sweet guy is on his way to recovery from whatever happened to him.

Huge thank you to Kindness Ranch for committing to him.
And thank you to all the magnificent SDR followers who shared him and offered to help!

We love Blanca! has this sweet and sensitive Great Pyrenees girl and approx 6 months and 43 lbs. Blanca loves to swim, romp with her dog pals, rest with her kitty friends, chew on a good antler, go for walks and, most importantly, be with her humans. How is Bear still available? This dog is an amazing dog!!

Bear is the perfect age, and has some really good skills under his belt! He’s healthy and loving and ready for adventure .

He will need a loving human and regular mental/physical activity… but he’s a fantastic dog. If he was good with cats, our Director literally said she would adopt him.

UPDATE!!! CHICKEN NOODLE IS GOING TO BE RESCUED BY KINDNESS RANCH!!! We are helping to coordinate the transfer, since they are out of state - but Chicken Noodle will be leaving the shelter in the next 24 hours and heading to Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary, where he will most likely be up for adoption!!

We love networking with all the amazing rescues out there and thank you to all of you who emailed on his behalf, and offered to take him in. Yay Chicken Noodle!!

We got an email from a local Front Range shelter about him. He was found as a stray and is very scared and fearful at the shelter.

He is estimated to be 9 years old, and need dental work. If you are a Beagle lover or know any Beagle lovers, please let them know about Chicken Noodle.

Our planet just got a little more 💕 last night!

Welcome to the world, little baby kitten!!

Meet the newest SDR kitten! This jet black baby was welcomed last night by her amazing mama (Lupine) and her foster family. Kitten quickly started nursing and snuggled right up with her mama.

This morning mama and kitten are getting some well deserved rest and bonding time.

Kitten doesn’t have a name yet, and we are unsure of if it’s a male or female. Stay tuned!!

9 Catahoula puppies coming soon (as courtesy post pups!).

A friend of ours at SDR has a neighbor who ended up with an accidental litter (long story). The owner of the pregnant mom moved back to Texas and left her, and didn’t come back. So the neighbor has taken on the responsibility of legal ownership, raising the puppies and now the process of finding 9 excellent homes.

These are purebred Catahoula puppies. They are 7 weeks old and will be ready to go to their forever homes starting 8/25.

They have been very well socialized during their neonatal period… and mom was well cared for during pregnancy.

They live with kids, dogs, horses and are inside a home.

We are looking for Catahoula savvy adopters who are active and committed to loving them and meeting their needs (mentally and physically).

We are on baby watch over here! 🥰

This little lady was surrendered over the weekend, and is due any day!

Her amazing foster family is deciding on a name for her, while helping her settle in and preparing for the big day.

Xrays showed she is carrying only one kitten!

Stay tuned as we await the arrival of our newest SDR kitten!

(We rarely have such exciting events because we are strong advocates of spay neuter)

She’s due next week, and X-rays revealed she only has one kitten!

Her owner is moving and can’t take her with her.

Lillah is a beautiful 4 year old poodle in Denver in need of a foster or adopter.

She’s friendly, loves to play with dogs, and enjoys respectful children over age 8.

She’s housetrained and a lovely addition to anyone’s home. Her owner had a stroke and is in the hospital, and can no longer care for her. Lilah is currently being kept in the basement of a friend’s house, due to their allergies.
She does have bladder stones, which her owner was trying to address.

Tala and Gypsy's owner passed away suddenly two days ago. Tala is a 6 year old Siberian husky and Gypsy is a 4 year old husky mix.

They are both spayed and vetted.

Their beloved human worked all over the country and brought them with him everywhere he went.

These dogs have experienced more adventure than most humans. Their ideal home would be together with someone that has a big yard and wants hiking companions/adventure buddies.

Geo and Gato are adopted!!

These kitties tragically lost their mom to cancer this Spring.

SDR stepped in to take them, as their human didn’t think anyone would want them and had scheduled their euthanasia. Luckily that amazing veterinarian reached out to us and arranged them to be official SDR kitties!

Their human passed peacefully, knowing they were safe… And now, they are living their best lives as feline retirees on the 22nd floor of a fabulous apartment in Denver.

Talk about windows with a view!

They are completely loved by their compassionate, devoted adopter.

And they will live happily ever after !

Shadow the Frenchie mix is still looking for his forever home!
He’s currently in a shelter in Arkansas, but transport is available for the right home .

A few rescues are now working on Sonny. These livestock guardian dogs can be tricky to place. Although she sounds amazing from the description, they are not easy dogs.

Great Pyrenees,
19 month old intact female (will be spayed). She is reported to be great with:
chickens
Cattle
Goats
Horses
Children and
other dogs (except one pushy heeler).

House trained, behaves well in house and yard.

She is doggie door trained and
Leashed trained very well.
Excellent Recall, good sit.
Does not jump 4’yard fence.

No food aggression
No resource guarding
No excessive barking, just alerts (however she is in a rural setting).
Good for brushing and nail trims
Does Not chew or destroy things in house or yard.

Loves walks and being loved by people.

This beautiful little family of kittens came into SDR over the weekend.
They are eight weeks old, and just settling in and getting their bearings.

They are very sweet and brave little kittens!!

The two orange ones are boys and the little gray one is a girl.
We will be taking applications for them starting next week.

Super bonus to anyone who would adopt all 3!

Kittens should be adopted in pairs, if possible.

She is red listed, meaning she’s cleared for euthanasia and can put down at any moment out there. Estimated 6 months old, she is kennel stressed.

Safe!! The incredible folks at Angels With Paws took him in today. They have a special ringworm room with other ringworm kittens, and a fast efficient ringworm protocol.
Thank you all who offered to help, and shared this muffin! ❤️🐾

Can anyone foster this adorable little kitten? He has ringworm,  which is not a worm at all, but just a fungus. We would provide treatment.
Urgent!
Otherwise he’s off to the overcrowded shelter. 💔

Dauntay - 1 yr, 2 month old small breed male dog (maybe Chihuahua/Corgi mix). He is super friendly, energetic and loves to play with his squeaky toys. He has the most adorable ears with one up and one down. Also, gotta love the low-rider doggies!!!
Devonshire - 3 year old female Chihuahua mix. She loves to play with her toys and her buddy, Dauntay. She is truly a lap dog and loves to hop in your arms for love and kisses but then will jump down and romp with her best friend. She’s a total snuggle buddy!!
Foster mom just loves them so much and really am enjoying having them here but they really need their forever home. They are so easy because they play together all the time and occupy each other.
Both of them are dog friendly, potty trained, sleep through the night, share their food with each other, are treat motivated, walk well on a leash and are just such little love bugs!!!!!
So gentle and affectionate.
They are a bonded pair and really want to be adopted out together.

Wonton’s foster mom traveled home for a family reunion this past week. We were all a little worried how he would do.

Luckily we found an amazing petsitter, Dawn Taylor, who stayed with him and loved him the entire time! He did great!

He is one lucky guy, and everyone who meets him falls in love!
