Efraim is not one to give up easily ... poor Lemmy at the bottom you think? Well 5 min before he was hanging on to Efraims neck feathers 🙄 seems all my teenagers are full of hormones and Honey and Bumble can’t help mixing themselves into it... weirdly enough they’re all friends as soon as Honey and Bumble are gone to the run with the ducks 🤷‍♀️

I have a few Argus Pheasant feathers back in stock! These are the perfect feathers to add to your collection. They are large wing feathers with unusual, stunning patterns and make *fantastic* naturalist decor pieces. I like to display my personal Argus feathers in antique glass bottles, and they make such a statement that all my visitors (pre-covid times) are compelled to inquire about them - which makes a nice little opportunity to introduce such a cool species, and plant a little seed of awe for the natural world 💛

Pair of Germains peacock pheasants feeding among the fallen leaves this morning. Quite low temperatures last night so they were shut in their shed but do enjoy being outside during the day. The video is not quite as I intended but it does still show how the refraction of light can illuminate the ocelli. If the angle is not right the intense emerald green dissipates leaving a very nondescript plumage. Now you see it, now you don’t. #pheasant #peacockpheasant #pheasantpair #rarepheasant

I love my Silver pheasants and the sounds they make. The wing fluttering he does in this video is a courtship display. Silver pheasants are native to the mountains and forests of south east asia and parts of china. I've been raising Silvers for about 20 years now. They aren't as flamboyant in color as the two color varieties Chinese Golden and Lady Amherst pheasants I raise but they are still a lot of fun to raise and quite intriguing. He's still recovering from his yearly molting so his tail is still somewhat short, but it will be 3 times as long soon enough. #silverpheasant #silverpheasants #exoticbirds
