the hooman at Brick Block gave me delicious vanilla ice cream before even asking what my hoomans wanted - he has his pawriorities straight. 17/10 would recommend

the humans dragged me on a 45 min 🚲 bike ride to the .chocolate.sparrow just to get themselves a treat. they did not share. they didn’t even get me a pup cup. i am v sad, but i take some comfort in being v cute 🥺

I’m excited to share that I’ve joined !

It feels particularly meaningful after Barak’s long health journey. On his first trip to the animal hospital, we were told that dogs with his diagnosis (pulmonary hypotension) typically only survived 3 days. We were lucky - despite the health rollercoaster and more diagnoses that followed, Barak gave us 3.5 more years of DJ’ing with his favorite mouse toy, throwing things under the couch, tolerating SoomSoom’s shenanigans, screaming shrilly for no reason at all, and melting into our arms.

While we’ll never know exactly what contributed to Barak’s conditions, his health largely stabilized after we started feeding him fresh food. Knowing what I know now about kibble, it’s no surprise… and it’s definitely a lesson I wish I’d learned earlier.

Barak crossed the rainbow bridge just over four months ago. In many ways, working at The Farmer’s Dog feels like a tribute to him. The company’s mission is to extend dogs’ longevity, which deeply resonates with me. For the sake of all dogs & their humans and in memory of Barak, I’m excited to contribute to it.
