Outstanding Oliver Oliver was officially adopted on July 4th 2018 by his foster parents after spending a year and a half at his foster home . :) Hi, my name is Oliver!

I was found as a stray in NY and wound up at their Animal Control where I was set to be put to sleep before Eleventh Hour Rescue stepped up and saved me. Boy, was I scared! I was extremely emaciated and sick with a lingering kennel cough that I just couldn't seem to shake. Who knows the last time I was fed! But the amazing people at EHR nursed me back to health and put some weight on me by making

sure I have plenty to eat. I'm now ready to find that forever family to spend the rest of my life with. My dedicated volunteer friends make sure that I get out of the kennel a lot. We go to fun places like the park, agility classes each week, on hikes, Dairy Queen, and they even take me home for visits sometimes! I love to go for rides in the car. You should see my tail wag when I get to sit in the front seat! And if you pet me while you're driving- boy, am I in heaven! I like to go on walks and I try not to pull on the leash because I know that people don't like that. In fact, I enjoy taking time to stop and smell the roses and you may have to pull me a little bit to get me to go! There is just so much to explore - we didn't have all those great scents in NY! I like to play in the yards at the kennel too. My favorite is when I bow down low to the ground and then pounce up and run around, watching if you're going to follow me. Sometimes I get to have play dates with some of my kennel friends. I enjoy being around other dogs and I am very mellow with them. I'm great in a home environment; I just like to relax and be with you! My volunteer friends I'm so loving, loyal, and goofy- whatever that means! While I don't like to live in the past, some things are hard to leave behind. Have you ever been so hungry that your body starts to eat itself? I have and it's a hard feeling to forget. When I see food in front of me now, I sometimes forget that I will never have to worry about having enough food again. I only ask that you don't touch my food or food bowl after you've fed me. I am currently working with a fantastic trainer who knows my past and needs, and is helping my volunteer friends work with me. I will need a loving owner who will be understanding of this and willing to follow plans set in place by my trainer. I've been waiting a long time for my forever home. I am a great boy who loves to be active or just chill. I have a lot of training behind me and I would love a family that will continue working with me. I haven't had such a great past, but I know I will have a bright future with the right family. I'm a loving boy that just wants a forever home. Please consider filling out an application today!

Hi everyone! Miss Nicole, here, hopping on Oliver's page to make a personal plea for a fundraiser that his rescue, Eleventh Hour Rescue, has tonight (Tuesday, August 22nd).

As many of you know, I have been a long time volunteer with EHR and have focused my efforts on working with our kennel dogs, including dogs who were a little harder to adopt, like Oliver was. Oliver was one of my longest "pet projects" and seeing him go home to foster (then adoption) with Dawn and Dennis is one of my most treasured and rewarding memories. I still continue to try to help overlooked and misunderstood dogs like him. We never give up on our dogs and that's one of the things that I love most about EHR.

Tonight we have a 4 hour livestream event - Jordan's Way National Tour LIVE Fundraiser for EHR from 6-10pm! During this time, we will be featuring some of our long time kennel dogs, while also doing some really fun and crazy challenges with our volunteers to help raise some big bucks for the group. Tune in to the event page or the main EHR page to watch! The more people tuning in, the better!

Please consider donating in memory of our boy, Oliver. Even a small donation can help add up. We have a big goal of $100k raised and I know we can do it with the support of people like you. This is money that will help us save the lives of even more homeless animals, as well as to do needed kennel improvements that will enrich the lives of the dogs there. We are accepting donations before the event kicks off so you can donate right now if you'd like! Thanks for reading! đź’™

The local Animal Rescue was having an auction and we bid on and just won this portrait painted by a local high school art student. It isn't perfect but reminded me so much of Ollie . Had to have it.

Update on the 11th Hour Agility course we built. Now that the wood had a season to dry Dawn and I went back up today to finish painting the items. We think it turned out really nice and looks great with the small stone that 11th spread to maintain the integrity of the base. Still in discussion about helping to fund a full season roof over most of it but for now it's a pretty darn good asset for them (we think). We have been volunteering at our local township recycling and running the TREX plastic program. Have secured 2 benches from collecting nearly 2,000 lbs of plastic with the 3rd on it's way to 11th Hour soon. :)

Update on Casanova. So happy to announce that 26 days after we brought him over for a 1 week foster (lol) we found him a home with a nice young man who had recently lost his Boxer. Amen.

Our current effort....

We agreed to bring "Casanova" over for 10 days while Animal Alliance deep cleans the shelter. Boy what a wonderful dog. Still a pup but already well mannered, super friendly, charming, and smart. He's under my feet while I type this and will shower you with affection. Beautiful silver/blue tones to his markings. And as you can see from the picture super friendly with other animals! Very clean. Doesn't shed. We recently adopted Eva from them our we'd certainly take him to foster. I don't think he'll be at the shelter too long as somebody is going to grab him. But if you or someone you know is looking here is the find. We're on our 5th rescue now and can tell you this one is another special find. If interested please reach out to Animal Alliance in Lambertville.
Fyi he looks bigger in the picture than actually is . And of course reminds me of a baby you know who...

♦️Jerome Horwitz, famous for playing CURLY in "THE THREE STOOGES", was known to all as a protector of dogs. Curly's contract with Columbia Pictures included a clause that allowed his dogs to accompany him on the studio lot. Columbia limited it to no more than two dogs at a time, this due to the puppies' unplanned on-camera appearances from time to time. You can still see those surprise dog on set invasions in the first few short films. Typically surrounded by various dogs, Curly was known to come home with a stray dog and foster it until he could find it a permanent home. When the Stooges were out on the road, Curly took it upon himself to find a new home for at least one stray dog in every town they visited. Curly is estimated to have saved and rescued more than 5,000 dogs in his lifetime. This makes him a man ahead of his time, with a very admirable concern for man's best friend.❤️

Well today Dawn and I delivered and set up Oliver's Outstanding Agility Course @ 11th Hour Animal Rescue with the help of Paul and especially Nicole. Phase One is complete with a few more minor tweaks pending. You can see all the elements we provided by purchase or self construction. Nicole already had at least one dog out there afterwards enjoying the facility. You can see the smile as these guys (and gals) now have place to run around free and have some fun. So thrilled it turned out so well. Phase two will begin in the next couple of months as we try and fund raise the additional needed cash to get (at least) a 70% canopy over the top so they can make use of the course sun, rain, or snow. We have about 50% of those funds budgeted and hope we can find enough support to get the rest of the dollars needed for this. Stay tuned!

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the Agility Course construction. Delivered the weave course and several jumps to 11th Hour last week and the new Tunnel arrived as well. Nicole sent me a couple of pictures of dogs already playing with it. I completed the construction of both the Tire Jump and 22foot walking bridge as pictured below. The tire jump is fully adjustable to raise and lower the tire height. This week I'll be making the See-Saw and a PAWS (lol..pause) stand and everything gets delivered and course set up this coming Saturday! (since it's ground contact lumber final painting can't be till spring. And don't worry. Treated lumber used since 2003 is not harmful to animals or humans). Have already qualified to have one Trex Bench (from recycled plastic) delivered and 60% done towards second one so folks have a place to sit and enjoy the action. This should turn out really nice and will post pictures next weekend after set-up.

Hi everyone. We just got back. Here's the news we wanted to share. As you may know Oliver was actually quite (surprisingly) good at agility skills. That's where we first met him. As I am sure you know we have a heart string for that dog that can never be broken. I've counted 14 dogs in my life and Oliver was the first and only Dog I have ever selected that I wanted from the start. Every other (wonderful) dog was either given or inherited. I hope you understand. Will never forget him.

As we age we want to create some legacy. Caring for animals and particularly rescue dogs we felt compelled to do more. To honor Oliver we are announcing our commitment to create, fund, and build "Oliver's Outstanding Agility Course" at the new Eleventh Hour Rescue complex in Flanders New Jersey. They have some space and we are going to create a professional quality course on site that Nicole and team can use to help train the rescues. Working with Paul Barish , Phase 1 will include jumps, weaves, tunnels, see-saws, bridges, and platforms that will add value to the complex and honor Oliver. We are fully funding/with plans for building this course this fall.

Phase 2 will be targeted for the spring of 2023 and with the vision of creating a full enclosure for the Agility Course to provide at least full season use to protect from the snow. This would involve sourcing and building an overhead structure plus foundation to protect the agility course and keep it functional during the winter. We're financially committed to help here as well. More details to follow if interested in helping make this phase a reality. Please stay tuned for news on that later. But coming soon: "Oliver's Outstanding Agility Couse" at the Eleventh Hour Rescue.
