Ursa and her litter at a few hours old
Happy Friday Mastamariners, we hope you have had a great week! We thought you may enjoy a throwback video of some playful pups to start your weekend right!
Also, would everyone be interested in the Mastamariner Christmas 'competition' again this year? We at Mastamariner very much enjoyed seeing all of your photos, so please comment down below if you would love for us to do it again! -Z
Frog hunting with Gracie, Mallory, Cairo and Ptolemy.
With all of this heavy rain we have been having lately, the local frogs have started to appear. Gracie, Ptolemy, Mallory and Cairo are a crack team of frog hunters on a mission.
Unfortunately, as this a very new team, they are not very good at it. We saw the frog that jumped in come out of the puddle into the safely of the hedge moments later. 10 minutes go by and they are still looking in the puddle for this frog.
I think it is safe to say that the frog is the most intelligent one out of our hunters. -S

Silly Ursa at bedtime.
Ursa is ready for bed and when her humans don’t come up to bed when she wants, Zoomies commence! What a silly girl. -S
Good girl Europa
Look who has finally decided to grow up and do as she is told. Came back without any presents of local wildlife clutched in her jaws. Good Girl Europa! -S
Ptolemy sulking because of bad weather
Me: “Ptolemy, staring at the rain won’t make it go away! Just stay inside for now.”
Ptolemy: “But, I could just go outside for a minute. It may not be raining at the bottom of the garden!”
Me: “Sweetheart, it’s raining everywhere! It’s not worth going outside right now.”
Ptolemy: “Why won’t it stop raining? I need to finish that tunnel I have been digging in the garden. There is definitely a Stegosaurus bone in the sand pit.”
Me: “ Well my boy, unless you plan on swimming, you can’t dig today. The sandpit is underwater. I’m sorry but that is just the way it is. You got wet enough on your walk this morning.”
Lady Spitfire, Beautiful Morning.
Our Lady Spitfire on form this morning. A day like this, there is only one song that fits. -S
Slow-mo Spaghetti
Today we had Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner. Of course we had many eager volunteers to help clean up. Mallory and Europa where first in line, a bit of slow-mo for you all this evening. Enjoy.... Mallory and Europa did! -S
Asinoe and the butterfly.
With nobody coming to visit, this is what passes for entertainment for the dogs. We have never seen Asinoe stay still for so long while conscious! -S
Ptolemy chin scratches!
Ptolemy just loves his chin scratches. He is really part cat! Look at those eyes! -S
Ptolemy the Duck catcher.
The boy must have his duck! Featuring Ptolemy. -S
Heatwave trough helpers
On a day like this, we have lots of help to empty the trough. George was joined by Mallory and a few Border Collies Lily, Lois, Quasar and Ptolemy. Wet happy dogs. -S
Solar pups
When it is raining cats and dogs outside, the best thing to do is beat up Mum Solar. Don’t worry, she really doesn’t mind! -S
Ptolemy at Agility flirting
On Monday, Ptolemy went to agility and met a charming, handsome boy by the name of Tarka. Tarka is a collie cross who found the perfect play mate. Ptolemy is indiscriminate about who he loves. He is such a flirt! 🌈 -S
Golden retriever in action!
River enjoying a swim at New Alresford’s river. A golden retriever in action! We then walked a little further and were surrounded by ducks. She found them fascinating and behaved like a model citizen. If anyone is interested, this is a beautiful walk where dogs can really cool off in this weather. She loved it and we really recommend this area. -S
Goldie puppies singing.
Going through the archives and found this video from 5 years ago. Golden Retriever puppies who have learnt how to howl. At this point, they are 3 weeks old. Gorgeous! -S
Juno helping to fill the trough.
Helpful Juno... really helpful. You forgive her though as she is a sweetheart. -S
Ruby helps clean up.
Occasionally, accidents happen. Ruby gets very excited when this particular accident happens. Only took her about 1 minute to eat all of that. -S
