A study conducted by Frontiers in Psychiartry with 75 families of children with autism determined that having a service dog helps with better sleep onset, duration and less nighttime anxiety for the children.

Although the exact reasons were not determined, the researchers suggest that the presence of a service dog may help provide security and comfort during the night.

Other studies have noted additional benefits such as reduced stress, increased positive emotions and less aggression in autistic children with service dogs.

Overall, these dogs can significantly improve the lives of children diagnosed with autism.

Feeders and drinkers are very important and in the market we find different sizes, materials and heights.

But which one should we choose? The food bowl should be chosen according to the size and anatomy of your pet. 🐶

For large and tall dogs, you should avoid too low dishes as it can cause digestive problems, it is recommended that the dish is about 20 cm from the ground. 🍴

For dogs with brachiocephalic characteristics, the dishes should be years old, so that they can move their jaws without problems.

Unlike people, dogs have 3 eyelids. Two are visible to the naked eye (upper and lower) and are covered with hair. And the third one is hidden under the other two eyelids and is visible to us under normal conditions.

Now, what is the purpose of this eyelid? It has two functions, a protective function when a foreign particle wants to enter the eye and it also has a moisturizing function, since it has a gland that produces 40% of the tears.😶‍🌫️

If we look at the gums of our dog we will observe that they present a pink coloration, this indicates health, except in those breeds such as the chow chow, which have, in a completely normal way, a blackish gum tone. However, there are pathological conditions that can alter the pink color, in these cases the gums will show shades such as the following: 1️⃣Yellowish: this coloration, called jaundice, usually appears when there are liver problems. 2️⃣Red: we can find this color in heat stroke and, in general, in the initial stages of any shock. In carbon monoxide poisoning the gums also turn red. 3️⃣Gray: this color is present in severe collapse situations. 4️⃣Dotted: Tiny red dots are small hemorrhages that may occur in liver failure. 5️⃣Blue: occurs when there is a lack of oxygen and is called cyanosis. Now that you know what the gums of sick dogs look like, it is important to emphasize that if for any reason you have any doubts, it is better to see a veterinarian as soon as possible.
