A: Pet Protection Products, LLC, (dba PupSaver) is our family's company. PupSaver is the only crash test-worthy dog safety seat on the market. Our seats are the equivalent of a baby car seat for a dog. They are rear-facing, providing impact protection like no other travel product, but comfy like a soft bed - so dogs actually love riding in them!
A: PupSaver has undergone and passed the canine variation of the FMVSS child safety seat test at MGA Research Corp. We contained the test dog, Our seat remained on the test bench, maintained an acceptable amount of excursion (amount of space the PupSaver moved from the seat back) and sustained no damage during testing.
3) Q: How is PupSaver different from, say, a crash tested crate or harness?
A: We say that PupSaver provides "Safety Beyond Restraint", meaning that those other products merely restrain the dog, but provide no impact protection - no head or neck protection. What happens to the dog inside that rock-hard crate that looks unscathed post-accident? What happens to the dog's body when the harness passes along the force of that crash to the neck or ribcage of the pet strapped inside?
4) Q: Who developed the PupSaver and the crash test parameters that you use?
A: Owner/ inventor Ray Bennett, along with a team of vets, auto industry experts, and engineers at Gerogia Tech developed the Original PupSaver. Our team, along with Jody Malone, a child car seat safety design engineer who was referred to us by MGA Research Corp, developed the parameters by which we test all PupSaver products.
5) Q: Has anyone ever been in an accident with their dog sitting in a PupSaver? If so, what happened?
A: Yes! We have heard from several customers who have unfortunately been in accidents...You can read their stories and view accident photos here. Luckily, each time the dog has not only survived, but they have also fared better than the human occupants in the vehicle. No injuries were sustained and that's pretty remarkable considering the severity of some of these collisions. One particular customer named Jayne Frye has actually been in two accidents, with two of her therapy dogs, both times thankfully safely seated in their PupSavers. The 1st accident she called to tell us that her car was totaled, her leg was broken but Lyla was ok and that was the most important thing. Although she is tired of being our crash test dummy, she's one of our biggest advocates now -- and for good reason!! Her testimonial is prominently featured on our website. You never think you'll be the one in an accident...especially not twice!
6) Q: How many different seat sizes do you carry? What size dog can you accommodate in each PupSaver?
A: We currently carry three models. PupSaver Petite fits dogs up to 10 lbs. Our Original PupSaver can accommodate dogs up to 30 lbs. The PupSaver 45 can accommodate dogs up to 45 lbs.
7) What are the dimensions of the different size PupSaver Seats?
*Please measure your car’s seat before purchasing.
PupSaver Petite Seat Size = 20”(seat width) x 10” (seat bottom depth) x 13” (seat back height) Note: PupSaver is a flexible product and will fit in most cars.
Weight = 4 lbs.
Original PupSaver Seat Size = 24”(seat width) x 12” (seat bottom depth) x 18” (seat back height) Note: PupSaver is a flexible product and will fit in most cars.
Weight = 7 lbs.
PupSaver 45 Measurements - 31” (seat bottom width) x 23” (seat bottom depth) x 23” (seat back height)
Weight = 10 lbs.
8) Q: If I have 2 dogs, can I place both in a PupSaver together?
A: No, we cannot recommend placing 2 dogs in 1 PupSaver. Doing so would be unsafe and could result in a serious injury, were you to be in an accident. We do offer multi-dog discounts, please contact us for details.
9) How do I clean my PupSaver?
PupSaver is NOT manufactured with a removable cover. The zipper on the back is for production purposes only and should not be opened for any reason. We suggest purchasing a PupSaver Washable Cover to keep the bottom cushion clean and odor-free. If you get a stain on the PupSaver, please spot clean with warm water and non-toxic cleaner.
We now offer removable Washable Seat Covers - https://pupsaver.com/products/original-pupsaver-washable-seat-cover-in-black-plush-fabric

Easy Install Instructions:
Your PupSaver is on the way! Here are a few suggestions for a successful and
stress-free installation experience:
1) Once you receive the PupSaver, take it out of the box and remove the bottom seat cushion. Pop the PupSaver inside out and squeeze the sides together. This helps reshape the seat, since it’s been folded inside the box.
2) Now that you have the seat cushion out, adjust the tether to the length of your dog’s front legs. The tether should be long enough for them to stand up, but short enough that they cannot step out of the PupSaver.
3) Pop the PupSaver back and return the seat bottom cushion to its original placement. You are now ready to install the seat in your car.
NOW FOR EASY INSTALLATION:
Please note that there are a total of 7 plastic seatbelt attachment “buckles” and 2 metal “j-hooks” on your PupSaver seat. You will only use 5 of the plastic buckles during installation. Depending on which side of the car you are installing the seat, 2 plastic buckles will not be used.
5) Pull the seatbelt all the way out and using the clip provided, clamp the seatbelt at the retraction point, so that the seatbelt cannot retract. The printed instructions in the box will help make this clear.
6) Please refer to the printed instructions for attaching the 3 PupSaver buckles onto the lap portion of the seatbelt and 2 metal j-hooks, if installing in the back seat. The j-hooks will only attach to the LATCH anchor system in the back seat of your vehicle, used for child car seats. (*Please see picture below)
So at this point, you should have used only the 3 buckles along the front of the PupSaver (and 2 j-hooks if installing in back seat) to attach the PupSaver to the lap potion of the seatbelt.
7) There are now 4 buckles left on the back of the PupSaver. ONLY USE TWO TO FORM A DIAGONAL LINE WITH THE SHOULDER HARNESS PORTION OF THE SEATBELT SYSTEM...TWO BUCKLES WILL NOT BE USED. (**Please see picture below)
At this time you can leave the clip at the seatbelt retraction point, if the seatbelt feels and looks too tight on the back of the PupSaver, which will cause it to fold over.
Congratulations! You are now ready to put your pup in their PupSaver and go for a ride!
