Our sanctuary's work in ACTION! This is Finnegan's story
Finnegan came to us in 2020. He was an owner surrender. He was skinny, defeated & tired. He was immediately vetted and rehabilitated.
But today#GivingTuesday , he's an important part of USHWR's mission to heal humans through horse-to-human connections. He's a beloved member of our equine family at our sanctuary.
Today, we're looking for HAY HEROES who will fill the barn with hay, so we can get our horses, just like Finn, fed through the winter. Here's how you can donate: ushorsewelfare.org/hay-heroes
This horse came to us starving. But take a look at how he's doing today...

US Horse Welfare & Rescue is proud to be a part of Giving Tuesday 2024. And this year we're asking our generous supporters to help us by becoming a HAY HERO!
We're less than 2 weeks away from the biggest global fundraiser of the year: #GivingTuesday2024. We're raising $12,000, which will help us feed our equine partners through the winter into spring. But we can't do it without your donations and your support.
We all need a little zen on a Monday morning. How about this quiet moment at the farm?
Thanks, Jorrit๐ค
p.s. This sweet boy is looking for a sponsor.
โค๏ธโ๐ฉน Research has PROVEN equine therapy works!
๐ด On this World Mental Health Day, we want to share how our sanctuary in Avon, CT is the perfect place for you (or someone you love) to experience the magic of knowing and loving a horse.
๐ด A study by British Horse Society found 80% of horseback riders say they feel โquite a lotโ or โextremelyโ cheerful, relaxed, happy or active when riding.
๐ Riders develop confidence, better physical health and problem-solving skills, develop socialization and companionship skills, and get to take-in our beautiful sanctuary atop Nod Hill in picturesque Avon, CT.
๐งฒ When our volunteers turn our horses in or out, muck the stalls and paddocks, water and feed, fill hay bags, and groom our horses, they discover the healing benefits of โgetting your hands dirtyโ, making a difference and caring for these peaceful animals.
๐ง In a society where young people and adults feel stressed, anxious and unhappy, we here at US Horse Welfare and Rescue strive for solutions. Itโs at the core of our mission: to rehabilitate unwanted or neglected horses and teach our community the healing benefits of human-to-horse connections.
โฅ๏ธ Weโd love to hear from you. Visit our website or send us a message to learn more about how you can experience the benefits of equine therapy.
