House Rabbit Society Singapore (HRSS) HRSS is an all-volunteer animal welfare group dedicated to rabbit welfare, adoption and education.

A lot of pet animals in Singapore suffer unnecessarily because of ignorance on part of their owners. Many people buy pets on impulse and do not fully appreciate the responsibilities of keeping an animal at home. The problem is particularly acute for rabbits because people wrongly assume that they are low-maintenance starter pets. HRSS was established by a group of concerned volunteers in April 200

2 to address this problem. We are also a certified educator for the American House Rabbit Society. HRSS runs a fostering programme to rescue and re-home abandoned rabbits. Every rescued rabbit is spayed or neutered, receives individual care including toys, medical care, healthy food and treats, and lots of love while they await for their permanent home.

Happy Midweek !

Join us in celebrating the adoption of Benny.
Benny had been with us for a while, he’s a handsome lionhead boy who’s quite shy.

We are so glad when Priscilla picked him from our Adoptables album and decided to give him a chance.

“Losing Koko broke my heart.
The house felt so empty without him. he used to sleep next to me every morning and his little presence brought me so much comfort. After he was gone, everything felt quiet and cold. I missed him so much I cried a lot, especially at night.

I remember praying quietly, wishing I could meet another bunny who would love me the way Koko did.someone who would sleep next to me, and bring back that missing part of my heart.

Then came Cookie(Benny)

At first, he was shy. But after two weeks, something special happened. He sleeping beside me. Just like Koko used to. And not only that, Cookie started giving me kisses. Gentle, loving kisses on my lips as if he knew I needed them. Every kiss reminded me that I wasn’t alone anymore.

Cookie didn’t replace Koko. No one ever could. But he brought light back into my life. And slowly, I started to smile again. I believe Koko would be happy knowing that Cookie is here with me, helping to heal my heart.”

We are happy for the 2 of them to have found each other and will have a happy life together. Sending them lots of ❤️❤️❤️

Hoppy TGIF ! Today we celebrates the adoption of Merli from our Mascot 5 rescue in Aug 2024. She is now happily bonded to HRSS Alumni boy, Poppy and has a loving family.

"After my current rabbit Poppy lost his bonded partner, I adopted Merli, an all-black Lionhead. Merli’s curious and confident personality quickly helped Poppy feel more comfortable and engaged especially since he’s rather shy without a partner. Poppy and Merli fortunately formed a strong connection in a short time and the bonding was smooth. A character trait of Merli is her show of affection by gently nudging us with her nose, a small but endearing gesture that we often look forward to. She loves to do zoomies around the room and, thanks to Poppy, has developed an appetite for vegetables. We contemplated going back to a single rabbit, but Poppy is obviously glad we didn’t do so."

All bunnies loves having somebunny to love, Thank you Martin & family for giving Merli a second chance at life. ❤️

Re*****on was found abandoned near a supermarket and rescued by a kind lady in March.

Fortunately, he was in good physical shape and we were able to sterilise and got him ready for adoption pretty soon. He is now on trial stay with 1 of our past adopters and we are sure we will hear good news about his confirmation of adoption soon. 😊

Dane & Lorelai came into HRSS back in early March. They were found in the western part of Singapore and passed to us through a contact.

They are 2 very sweet looking bunnies and estimated to be middle aged. They have settled very well at their foster home. Their fostermom shared that they are super kpo during their roaming time and will follow her around, trying to see what she’s doing.

They are ready for adoption and need to be adopted as a pair. 🥰

Hoppy TGIF

We apologise for being so quiet recently but rest assured our rescue & rehoming works continued on. 😆

Today, we are very happy to share the adoption news of Qigik (1 of our foster kids who had been with us for a while). Qigik came to us in Feb 2023 as his owners were relocating. He required surgeries for his dental & nasal issues and we were blessed with the very skilled team at Vet Central who managed to address all his issues and he’s now a happy and healthy boy.

“From Bunemies to Flopmates 🐰

Hi I'm Cookie! I used to be called Qigik (key-geek). Two months back, I got adopted and suddenly my hoomins started calling me Cookie! 🍪 Have hoomins been pronouncing my name wrongly..? 🤔

Back in my bachelor days, I didn't need to share my food 🥬 I love food so much I headbutted my bowl many times

Then... I met her 🐰 Hoomins said I am getting a new friend. LIES 😡I got a feisty bossy lady who thinks everything is hers 💁🏻‍♀️ . We had daily stare downs in the beginning. She boxed, I boxed. IT WAS WAR 🥊💥

But after some professional bonding (and contract negotiations regarding dandelion roots), we reached peace🧘🏻‍♀️.
I let Mocha groom my majestic head and share my snack, because if I don't, she throws paws and tantrums like a true wife 🙄

I found my furever home and a sassy partner ❤️ If you're thinking of adopting and supporting bunnies like me, check out HRSS! Every bun deserves a second chance 💞”

Thank you Kit Ying for giving our boy a second chance at life! We wish you guys a great life ahead! 😘

TGIF! 🎉

Hi everyone, I’m Bailey (the loppy)! 🐰

I was rescued by HRSS 🛟, and last September, I hopped into this family to be a companion for Pudding — who’s also an HRSS alum 🐇. I came in full of hope… but things didn’t go quite as smoothly as I imagined 😅.

Pudding was intense 😤. There was thumping, snapping, and a whole lot of attitude 💥👀. We had to stay apart for months while our Mummy patiently worked with us 🧘‍♀️💗. She never gave up — not even when it felt like bonding was impossible 🙏.

Then we went to Clarris’ bonding camp 🏕️… and something changed ✨. Slowly but surely, we began to trust each other 🤝. Now, we eat side by side 🥬, flop around together 🛏️, and stir up plenty of bunny mischief 😈🐾.

It’s been quite the journey 🚀 — but I’ve found my home 🏡. Pudding’s still the boss 👑… but I’m Bailey, and I’m here to stay 💕.
