A lot of pet animals in Singapore suffer unnecessarily because of ignorance on part of their owners. Many people buy pets on impulse and do not fully appreciate the responsibilities of keeping an animal at home. The problem is particularly acute for rabbits because people wrongly assume that they are low-maintenance starter pets. HRSS was established by a group of concerned volunteers in April 200

2 to address this problem. We are also a certified educator for the American House Rabbit Society. HRSS runs a fostering programme to rescue and re-home abandoned rabbits. Every rescued rabbit is spayed or neutered, receives individual care including toys, medical care, healthy food and treats, and lots of love while they await for their permanent home.

𝗛𝗥𝗦𝗦 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿 – 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀

The adoptables have gone camping at Wigglewoods, and you're invited to visit them now 'til the end of August. From 18 to 31 August, 4 adoptable rabbits will be staying full-time at the Bunny Campus. Over the weekend of 23 and 24 August, another 4 will be joining the adoption drive - so that’s a total of 8 bunnies looking for their forever home! It’s also a great chance to meet the HRSS team and learn more about rabbit care, fostering and adoption.

Wigglewoods Bunny Campus is Singapore’s only licensed playpen rabbit boarding facility. Bunny owners are welcome to explore the new campus during this special event and take part in fun promotions, with chances to win vouchers for your next stay, enjoy free grooming sessions, receive discounts on retail products, or pick up some forage herb giveaways.

HRSS will be going to Good Pet Fair (Kampong Edition) 2025

Cruz’s Rescue Story

On the evening of July 5, we were alerted to a Facebook post about a rabbit spotted at Chestnut Walk. The following morning, volunteer Kathleen and her daughter Hannah headed down in hopes of rescuing the rabbit.

After parking their car, they met a cleaner and asked if he had seen a rabbit in the area. He confirmed that he had spotted a brown and white rabbit two days earlier and kindly led them to the spot.

Hannah remained in that location while Kathleen searched the surrounding bushes. As Kathleen was making her way back, Hannah saw the rabbit in a drain, nibbling on leaves. Acting quickly and quietly, she jumped into the drain and gently grabbed the rabbit from the front. Fortunately, the bunny only began to struggle after being safely secured. He was quickly placed in a carrier, bringing the rescue to a successful close.

On their way back to the car, they crossed paths with the cleaner once more, who confirmed that it was indeed the same rabbit he had seen earlier. The rescuers were grateful that Cruz had emerged into the open drain, making him visible and accessible, as the area was otherwise dense with shrubbery.

Cruz spent a few days under the good care of Bunny Wonderland before we had space to bring him in. He’s turned out to be a young, energetic, and curious rabbit. He also has a great appetite and is a hay monster. He’s now been examined by our vet, sterilized, and is ready for his next big adventure.

Meet Our New Rescues!

Over the past two weeks, HRSS has taken in 10 rabbits from AVS into our care. While we don’t have detailed background information on them, we believe Sienna and Yaris were rescued separately, and the remaining 8 rabbits came from the same source.

All 10 rabbits have been examined by the veterinary team at Vet Central. They are estimated to be between 1 to around 2–3 years old, and thankfully, none have any major health concerns. Some arrived underweight and with patchy coats, but with proper care over the past week, they’ve started to gain healthy weight and their fur is growing back beautifully.

They all have car-inspired names and among them are 6 girls and 4 boys. All of them have been sterilised and will be ready for adoption soon. We’re planning an adoption showcase to introduce these lovely bunnies to their potential forever homes.
