We definitely have some frosty faces now! Betsy from 2017 to now and then mine from 2023 to now! The hooman can't believe how much we have gotten white over the years. Ofc they still say we are just babies. (Betsy is doing okay after last Monday with bloat!)

2023 I drove to the humane society of Midland and adopted an almost 60 lb beagle. 3 years later I didn't realize how much I needed a different type of beagle from cosmo. Cosmo was calm and quiet and grumpy but loved life. Stewie is now 11 years old with a bladder tumor (maybe cancer) and is 36 lbs... He needs to lose 2 lbs lol. But here he is for the last month and half. He's loud, a damn as***le, a big fu***ng foodie, loveable to a point, bed ho all the way, and sometimes I think he is a little challenged. 😂 I would not have him any other way. For whoever had him before I, multiple people possibly, thank you for giving up on him so I could show him I wouldn't. Happy 3rd gotcha day.

Last night Betsy had a medical emergency. Her stomach was so extended and painful. We ended up going to an ER vet at 940 pm. We didn't get home until 3 am. She had to get her stomach emptied out from the gas and from some liquids. We don't know how exactly this happened. Right now we are waiting for a call from the reg vet to see if we need to do anything different. We are now in the hole almost nine hundred but we had to save her. She is home and resting as of now.

Silvermist Rose Burkhard 🌹 . Oct 7th 2016 or 17 to June 25th 2026. She left this earth today. She for almost 2 months has been fighting a losing battle of a disease that ended up slowly killing her. She put up a fight but it was too much for her. I let her go home to my mom (her mom too) and her husband Tiddly. She was never a people bun, she liked her space but when she did accept you, she loved you with all she could. Binky free Silvermist. Tell tiddly, Rosetta, Lilac, and teddy I said I miss them and to take good care of them.

So this girl went to the vet for her annual exam. Here were the results of said visit.
Her heart murmur is now grade 4 instead of 3. Still acceptable for taking the low dose 2.5 mg of steroids for her immune issue.
She needs to gain back the pound and half she lost. She's not under weight but she is on the minimum weight she needs to be. So more food now.
The patches of fur loss is actually from her prolonged use of steroids. She's been on it for many years now. I think 4 or 5 maybe longer. So we also have to watch out for Cushing's disease. The steroid can cause that too.
Her knees both are filled with arthritis. That's why I noticed her dragging her feet more. So we are on a supplement to help the joints because with the steroid there's not much we can do....
Her teeth are awful. They always have been and we haven't been able to do anything with getting them pulled or anything. But just offer more smaller and soft foods for her which she is back on fresh pet. Rip my wallet.
The swelling under her chin and neck. It's soft and it doesn't seem to bother her. We have to watch it so it's not causing her to not eat or drink. We are not sure what's fully causing it. So it's a watch and see. She isn't a candidate for any type of surgery.

Happy Saturday everyone. It's been 2 weeks so doing another photo dump. My one bun who's 9, thump thump, he was diagnosed with a**l tumors. So I may be losing him within the year or so depending on how much they grow. Stewie is still stable and acting like a typical beagle lol I love my crew I do. 2026 is off to a rough start but I have hope it may get better. How are you friends

Doing a photo dump. So last month Stewie went to the vet 3 times. 2 times were for his cancer and 1 time was an emergency visit after he ate raisins. Good news is the raisins didn't harm him and we got him to puke them up and gave supportive care. Bad news is his cancer is causing blood in his urine again..even with antibiotics, he's peeing drops of blood. He's still acting like his normal goofy self though. We are trying to get a medicine to help slow the growth of his tumor. And hopefully with that, it will prolong his life for the better and not worsen it. Waiting for the pharmacy to fill it and ship it as we couldn't get it from a local pharmacy..don't even get me started with how long it is taking. We ordered it on the 27th of Dec. Still hasn't shipped. Anyways we are still here and living life in the cold winter!
