About Me:
I have a 20 year background in R+ training and have trained a number of species from fish to parrots, dogs, rabbits, wild birds, guinea pigs and even a turkey! That turned out to be the first step into a deeply rewarding on-going journey into getting my own horses and training with them. * RUBY is a 4 year old QH/TB mare who was originally purchased through Laverton Knackery after having gone through Echuca Horse Sales. My only requirement was one that was smart and liked to train, both qualities Ruby has in spades! An unhandled horse is not often a good choice for a first horse to train yourself but she has been an absolute joy. Bossy, self confident and far too smart for her (or our) own good she is my 7 year old daughters pony. She is mainly worked by my sister Siri.
* DAISY is a 6 year old Standardbred mare originally purchased through Laverton Knackery after having been sold direct to knackery for slaughter. She was in poor condition when she arrived, having failed to race she'd been sold to a dealer. In that time she'd fallen, been dragged and starved acquiring a nasty pelvis/leg injury and dreadful sand colic. She is my heart and soul on four legs and I adore her! My sister Siri is chiefly in charge of her 'serious' training, while I do tricks.
* MELIAN is a 5 year old Brumby mare who was originally bought through Laverton Knackery as an unhandled/lightly handled. She is a thoughtful, clever little mare but so easy going you can forget how talented she is. He's had a large part in her early training and breaking and they adore each other.
* KINGFISHER is a 3 year old Standardbred gelding who was purchased through Echuca Horse Sales after he wasn't any good at racing. He has a number of physical difficulties that he's working through and is a serious, quiet fellow that is our quiet achiever in the very capable hands of my sister.
* EPONA is a 5 year old Welsh D mare who was purchased privately, originally from the Kerang Stud dispersal. Sold as being almost impossible to catch she has quickly turned into quite the smoochy momma's girl and is utterly adored.
