❤🐾 Jane, Michael, and Alba 🐾❤

Meet Jane, Michael and Alba!! These three siblings have not had an easy start to their life. We do not know why they ended up in a rural shelter. But at just 5 weeks old, they were facing an uncertain fate when they landed on the euthanasia list. When our rescue partner asked if we could take them up to MA if they took them in and got them into foster, we couldn't say no. Their lives mean something, and if we can be a stepping stone on their path, then we are going to help.

They are estimated to be 9 weeks old currently. They are lab mixes but we do not know what they are mixed with. Michael is the runt, weighing 10 pounds, Jane weighs 13.8 pounds and Alba is the chonky girl weighing in at 16.8 (as of 6/23/24).

These three have been in an amazing foster home where they have played with kiddos, other dogs, and even the house cats. They are well socialized and ready for their forever homes. Just like any puppy they will need basic puppy training and patience as they learn their world.

❤🐾 Abner 🐾❤

Meet Abner!! This handsome boy is coming to us from our rescue partner in South Carolina. He is on the smaller side, and is 3 years old. Here is what his southern foster says:

"Abner is a 3 year old neutered male beagle that was released to rescue by a breeder. Abner is a happy go lucky boy that loves to play chase and do zoomies through the fenced yard with his beagle friends.

He is an overall chill and relaxed fellow. He does love his chew toys, he will pick up your flip flops and carry them around proudly but don't worry, he won't destroy them.

Abner sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and does well loose in the house when attended. He sleeps soundly in his dog bed throughout the day when you are home. He has decided the couch is a fantastic place to hang out and nap!

Abner is crate trained and does not have accidents in the house (he's had zero accidents thus far), though he does not have unattended time loose in the house. He is doing great with potty training. He is free roaming in the house throughout the day. He likes
to give you an excited aroo when he first leaves his crate in the morning, he tells you how happy he is to see you then is quiet through the rest of the day. He doesn't track the yard like many beagles do. I work from home so I am able to give the dogs a good amount of one on one time, which he loves.

He loves to be hugged and petted, he will walk up to you while you sit in your work chair and put his paws on your feet to ask for attention. He is sort of a lazy guy, definitely a laid back boy. He sleeps through car rides, we buckle him in with doggy seat belts and he is good to go.

He eats happily in his crate, we use treats and positive reinforcement to inspire him to go into his crate. He has not been exposed to small children but has done super well with me and my husband. He should make an easy transition into most home environments. He is a good little dog who deserves a wonderful future far removed from the life he lived in the breeding kennel."

🌞🌞🌞 HEAT ADVISORY 🌞🌞🌞

There is an air quality and heat advisory issued for portions of northern Connecticut, central, eastern, northeastern, and western Massachusetts, and northern Rhode Island.

If you have pals in these areas please be cautious when taking them outside. A few reminders-

🐾 Heat exhaustion can happen quickly, watch your pet for signs of heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, and seek emergent veterinary care if these happen

🐾 DO NOT bring your dogs with you while doing errands. Just don’t. They can stay home and do not need to be with you while you run into the grocery store.

🐾 Avoid any walks or playing during the peak times of the day. Do an early morning or evening walk if you must. Always check the pavement first to prevent injuring paws.

🐾 Instead of outdoor play, do some basic training exercises or brain games inside. Mental stimulation is just as important (and tiring) as physical stimulation.

🐾 If you have a large breed, long haired, short shouted, overweight, or any dogs with health conditions, please keep them inside.

🐾 If you are taking your pal to the beach, watch for how much water they drink, salt water can cause illness if too much is ingested.

We hope everyone is able to enjoy the hot weather but please remember to be safe! Drink water, and don’t be outside longer than necessary. Your fur pal needs you to be healthy too!!

❤️🐾 Cheyenne 🐾❤️

Meet Cheyenne!!! She is a 4 month old, weighs around 35 pounds, and is a pure bred German Shepherd.

Cheyenne was dumped by her “owners” with her two siblings in a crate at the end of our southern rescue partners driveway. They were cold, and covered in urine and f***s. They got warm baths, lots of love, and were placed in amazing foster home in SC. She’s been in MA about a week now.

Here is what her foster from South Carolina, and her foster from here in MA have to say about this lovely lady!!

From her southern foster- Cheyenne is a sweet and loving girl who is happiest being with her people or four legged friends! Cheyenne follows the lead of the resident canine and has done excellent with crate training. Making only soft noises when first put "to bed", Cheyenne has mastered keeping her crate clean for close to a month now..meaning no crate accidents for her at all!! She's a smart girl eager to please but still a puppy... don't turn your eyes too far away!

Cheyenne is very interested in the family cat!
She's not looking to harm him but hasn't quite learned not to chase him (don't worry, the cat asks for it so there's some mixed signals being given!)

Cheyenne has been working on "sit" and while she almost had it mastered, she's easily distracted and reverts to jumping up to say hello; never on the small children though, she's very gentle with them. She's been raised around six kids ranging from 2-11 years old, though!

From her MA foster- So far she has been doing great in my house. No accidents and, although not initially happy to go in her crate, she settles fairly quickly and sleeps through the night. She is enjoying playing with all 3 of my dogs, who range in age from 6 months to 10.5 years. She loves to play but also enjoys her naps! She is very smart and loyal and loves to cuddle.

Cheyenne is an adorable little lady who will make a great addition to any family!

It has been SIX whole years since we took in our first rescue pal!

Since June 6, 2018, we have been able to bring in 1885 rescue cats and dogs (and a couple mice, rabbits, and hedgehogs) under our care. It has been an incredible journey to say the least.

We are so appreciative for each and every one of our volunteers, coordinators, fosters, and adopters!! Thank you for supporting us and giving us the ability to rescue more cats and dogs each year. We say it all the time, but it is true- we could not do this crazy rescue thing without you!!

A special thank you to our rescue partners who trust us to give these pals an amazing life. We are honored to work with you!

We are excited to see what the next year brings this little rescue of ours!

❤️🐾 Almond 🐾❤️

Meet Almond!! She is around 5-6 months old by estimate when she first came into rescue. She is an adorable little terrier mix. Here is what her foster says:

“Almond is a very sweet puppy! Her Favorite part of the day is mealtime- she gets very excited when it comes to food. She has a lot of energy she’s like a bullet in the house when she runs with her toys- zoomies are the best!

Even though she has lots of puppy energy, she loves to cuddle after playing. She’s a little jumpy but she’s working on ditching those puppy behaviors. She’s doing very well with potty training but she does have a few accidents but she’s learning our routine and doing great. She seems to like other dogs too! Going on walks are not really her thing yet she's a little to nervous around cars passing by but with time and exposure she will be just fine. She’s a country gal so these new situations are scary at first. I joke that her name should be “Sassy” because of how confident she acts sometimes but overall, she’s a great little lady who will make a family very happy.”

❤️🐾 Priscilla 🐾❤️

Meet Priscilla!! This gorgeous, adorable little lady is looking for her forever home! She just got here to MA, but her southern foster sent along a bio. Here is what her South Carolina foster says about her:

“Meet Priscilla or Prissy as we like to call her. She’s a 10 to 11 week old bouncy Husky (?) mix with the sweetest face. She’s searching for her forever family. She was found abandoned at an industrial area on a cold night, tiny and lost dodging the trucks coming and going. The security guard got her to safety and into rescue. Her stray hold was completed and she was not claimed.

She has a ton of husky confidence and we love that about her! We hope you will too. Her favorite pastime is playing fetch from couch to couch and a game of exciting tug.

She’s been crate trained since 8 weeks and has done fabulous with a schedule. She is very vocal when nap-time is over and will sing you a song but she sleeps almost through the night soundly with her favorite lamb stuffy.

Prissy has gotten along with her 1 year old foster sister Dolly wonderfully for short visits and tries to ignore our 3 cats best she can. She has walked great so far on a leash and is using a leash inside to gain even more experience with it. She will thrive with training and seems energized to learn. Especially if treats are involved! She’s currently working on her sit and recall. As well as curbing the puppy nibbling 🦈.”

Priscilla is a young puppy who will need a family committed to puppy training and helping her learn her world.

We only have 4 days to find Louie and Lola (post coming soon!) each a foster.

They both need decompression, and can be the only dog, but once they trust they love hard.

Please consider fostering or even adopting one of these littles. They have been in foster for 11 months. It’s time for them to be in their forever home!!

Boarding is not only expensive, but it’s going to cause them to shut down again and that’s just not fair.

With all of your help we were able to keep Miles and Lora out of boarding, and we are hoping you all can help us again.

Louie and Lola need a new foster ASAP. Their fosters basement flooded and a lot of work needs to be done in the house which is starting next week.

Lola and Louie need a new place to go asap. They are siblings but do not want to be around each other, so they each really need their own foster.

This is Louie’s bio. Please please please consider fostering (or adopting!!). And as always please share! We do not want them going to boarding, they were shut down when we took them from the shelter last year and it’s taken months to get them settled into a home. They now know what a home is and the last thing we want is to put them in boarding (that’s if we can even find a place with room and that is cost effective).

❤🐾 Seamus 🐾❤

Meet Seamus!!!

Seamus was found with his Momma and siblings in rural South Carolina. Their finders, graciously took them in, found a rescue, and decided to keep Momma. We do not know who Dad(s) are/is, but we do know mom is a Great Pyrenees Mix. She is on the smaller side of the breed, likely from the "mix" but she is a big girl, so we are assuming Seamus is going to be a larger pal once full grown. He is currently 3 months old and weighs in over 30 pounds. Seamus has been in foster in MA for a couple weeks and here is what his foster Mom has to say:

"Seamus fit right in from the beginning. He loves my children and he is very kind and easy-going. My children are 13, 14 and 16. My youngest son has special needs and I swear that Seamus knew this from the beginning because he has been extra sweet impatient with him. He is just such a love.

He is absolutely loving my other dogs. He loves to cuddle with them and he loves to play with them. He will engage in play by taking a toy that's right in front of them just to get them to get up and chase him. I would say that he would be a excellent addition to a family who has another dog already. However, I could see him being an only dog too because he seems to love his humans just as much as he loves his four-legged foster brothers.

Seamus is doing fantastic with housebreaking. He has only had one accident since he has been with us and it was right after he first came. Since then, he has been going to the slider door to let us know he needs to go out. He has been going into the fenced in area of our backyard and is able to walk up and down the stairs with no problem.

Seamus is a very calm boy. He is just such a love and easy going guy and reminds me of a little polar bear. He is still trying to figure out how to work through those big paws of his.

Seamus has been sleeping through the night. Unfortunately, my husband does get up very early for work so we all get up and go outside early around 3:30 AM and the dogs use the bathroom. They come back in and they go right back to sleep. If it wasn't for this early morning, wake up call, I truly believe that Seamus would sleep through the night.

Seamus is very sweet and he loves to be near either myself, one of my children, or laying next to or on top of one of my dogs. He's an easy-going, go with the flow kind of guy.

He is still trying to figure out my cats. I would imagine that he had not seen a cat prior to coming to my house. He was very scared at first when he saw my cat, and he jumped back quite a bit. Since then, he now chases the cats and barks at them every time he sees them. It's hard to know if he is just very intrigued by them and wants to know more or if he is simply not a fan. We are working on that to determine if he is going to be good with cats or not. Luckily my cats are pretty dog savvy.

Again, Seamus is a great dog and he is going to make a wonderful addition to any family."

🐈🐾 Noelle 🐾🐈

Meet Noelle!

She is a 6 month old, domestic short hair kitty. She is small, weighing around 6 pounds.

Noelle lost her right eye after complications from an eye infection. She hasn't had any issues in the left eye, and has no problems navigating her world.

This little lady may be a little shy at first, but in a short time, she is out of her shell and very lovable to her people. She loves spending time with her people once she is settled in. She won't pass up a good snuggle session under the blankets with you!

Just as much as she loves to snuggle, she loves to play as well!! No cat toy will be turned away by this girl. To relax and unwind, a good window session is just fine for Noelle. She enjoys lying in the window watching the world outside. Noelle has been in foster with other cats and dogs and has done very well.

Update- Miles has a foster, now we need Lora!!! Please keep sharing!!!

We have been posting these two amazing pals for days and weeks. We have been begging for fosters. We have been talking to potential adopters.

No one has even tried to give either of these two a chance.

Lora needs a foster by the end of the weekend. Miles needs a foster by tomorrow. Both of their foster homes are moving and they cannot go with them.

Boarding is not an option. It’s not going to set Lora up for any type of success, and Miles is a home body. Either of these dogs being in boarding indefinitely is not an option. Not only are the boarding facilities we work with full, but it’s not financially manageable.

So, here we are. It’s Friday, and neither of these most deserving dogs have a place to call theirs, even temporarily.

We don’t know what else to do. We simply can’t keep being in this predicament. Begging for foster homes. This is so upsetting to us and not fair for these dogs. They don’t deserve to have their worlds rocked and turned upside down with multiple changes in a short time.

Please consider fostering. We will provide everything needed. Literally everything. This is beyond urgent, this is an emergency now.

Good Afternoon!

I want to take a minute and send a plea to our followers and supporters. After a long phone call with our rescue partner, I want to explain what is going on behind the scenes and how we need your help.

These three pure bred shepherd puppies were dumped in this crate. They were terrified, understandably. After finding an amazing foster home, they are the happiest, goofiest, most adorable little girls.

Last week we posted the Great Pyr litter. They too were failed by humans but are in the same amazing foster home as the shepherds and getting all the love.

All of these puppies are adoptable, and ready for their forever homes. More important, WE NEED FOSTERS.

The local shelter is euthanizing puppies and adults. No animal is “safe”. They have no where for these dogs to go. When we get a dog or puppy adopted, it opens another spot for a foster. Here and down in South Carolina. That means a shelter dog gets to live, and there’s another spot for a dog to go.

We have 6 Great Pyr puppies and two shepherd puppies available. We also have our adorable beagle boy, Miles, among so many others available.

I am begging for your help. We are desperate for fosters and adopters, and also funding to be able to keep bringing these pals up. Isolation is $130 per dog. If anyone wants to “sponsor” one of these pals to travel north, that would be a huge help. When we don’t have adopters lined up, it means we have minimal funds coming in, and it makes it very difficult to bring pals into the rescue. Donations are at an all time low.

We have a big question mark as to why this handsome boy hasn’t gotten ONE SINGLE application.

He is a DREAM!! He is incredibly loving, has good manners, house and crate trained, neutered and fully vaccinated! He is a 10/10 good boy and has been in foster for MONTHS.

We are half way to our goal and Whitney’s appointment is tomorrow.

We had a foster pal in the emergency vet this past weekend because she had a reaction to deworming. That bill was over $500.

❤️🐾 Casper 🐾❤️

Who remembers our “Casper” themed litter from
October?? Well, Casper himself was adopted but unfortunately was returned due to no fault of his own. He is now 7 months old, neutered, and vaccinated.

“Casper is an energetic and playful 7-month old, Labrador retriever mix, puppy. He loves attention and loves playing. He is curious about his surroundings.

This boy loves his toys- especially chew toys. Since a puppy he will hold his favorite toys in his mouth and pose for pictures. He loves nature walks and honestly just walks in general. He is learning to walk on leash a little better. He’s not a bad puller, but wants his nose to take him everywhere. He does great in the car and really loves going on adventures.

He still has some puppy behaviors that we are working on when he meets new people. He is incredibly friendly but will occasionally jump up, but we are working on that. He does zoomies around bed time but will go in his crate and sleep through the night. He sleeps well during the night and does not disturb his humans while they sleep.

Casper is house trained, but is still a little mouthy at times when playing. He does not cause any harm, but it’s still something we are working on him not doing.

This sweet boy will need a family who will continue his puppy training. He is eager to please and training so far is going well. Casper is a great puppy and will make a great addition to any household!”

Meet Potata!! She is a 2 year old Pittie Mix, who is coming to us from Louisiana!! She has been treated for heartworm, spayed, and vaccinated and ready to find her forever home!

Hello! My name is Potata, sweet Potata if you’re fancy!
I am looking for a forever family to start the rest of my life with!!

I am a ball of energy and snuggles! So if you’re the type of person that likes to go for walks, play in the yard, or go for hikes, and then wrap up our day snuggled on the couch I just might be the perfect fit for you!
I am potty trained and dog and kid friendly, but I’m a solid pup, so small children might not be the best for me. I have been around kids 7 years and up and adore them!!

I do best with dogs that are not too in my face at first. I want to get to know them a little before we romp around, but once I know they don’t want to hurt me I am ready to wrestle and chase!!! The best situation was when I got to meet my foster family’s dogs while I was safe in my kennel for my decompression period. Watching them interact and come visit near my kennel showed me that they were not scary.

New situations and people can make me nervous, so I want someone that can teach me confidence and show me that I am safe ❤️ When I am nervous I might raise my hackles and bark while backing up, but I just try to hide and get away from the new scary thing, I have never shown any aggression or reactivity otherwise!

I am working on the kennel command with defiance, because I would much rather snuggle in bed with you, but I do stay quiet in my kennel all night until morning!

I really am a low maintenance girly! If you’re busy I’m more than happy to hang out on the couch in a pillow and blanket pile that I make. I might entertain myself with a few toys and come check in with you for a few pets. So whether you work from home or away, I am perfectly fine hanging out until you can spend time with me!
