【Mocha】 The first time Mocha hiked here, she was pulling so much and breathing so hard that I had to carry her. She’s been doing amazingly with leash training lately and it paid off today 👏 5.5 miles and no carrying needed! Proud of this lil potato 🥔

【Mocha】Since Sophie passed last month, the boys haven’t been the same. The danes are bonded to each other, but Bosco and Jax weren’t quite right without Sophie bonding them. On what would have been Sophie’s 10th birthday this week, serendipity brought us a new misfit who can keep Sophie’s brothers in check in her absence. Mocha (formerly Rosie) is 3.5 months old and was rehomed to us because her previous family realized they weren’t ready for a dog. Since introducing Mocha to Jax and Bosco, she has done amazingly and it’s bittersweet seeing the social skills that Sophie taught the boys passed onto a new misfit. We’ll be introducing her to the danes a little bit later, when she’s a little less anxious ❤️ We know Sophie is watching over all of us and wants us to be ok, even though it has been so hard not to miss her every second of every day.

【May 4, 2013 - Apr 12, 2023】Sophie crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. We are eternally grateful to have shared 9 years with her. She was my soul dog, my best friend, and the leader of our pack of misfits. Thanks to Sophie we’ve met so many wonderful people and dogs and we’ve gone on so many amazing adventures together. Special thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words of support as we embarked on the chemo journey with her, and thank you to Dr. Choy and his team at SVS Kirkland for doing everything they could. Thank you to Inglemoor Animal Hospital for being there for her, always. Thank you to the family who trusted us 9 years ago to be Sophie’s fourth owners and become her furever home, changing our lives for the better. F*** cancer.

We are heartbroken to share that Sophie has been diagnosed with cancer (lymphoma). It has been tough for us to process, and we may have anywhere from 1 to 8 months left with her. We’re making plans to take her on as many adventures as we can and hope she can say farewell to many of the friends she’s made since we adopted her in 2014. Please reach out if you want to meet up ❤️

【Bosco】A much needed mountain getaway this weekend. First stop was Barclay Lake, only an hour from home 😱 📌 Protip: We used the .link GPS to track our hike and give us added peace of mind that we had an eye on Bosco’s location if anything were to happen.
