Ever is a remarkable poodle, and has proven to be both talented at the sports we pursue and wonderful as a family companion. She adores people, and is happy to snuggle up to anyone she meets.. She is affectionate and cuddly, and loves to relax on the couch next to her people. I like to call her a “rule follower”, as she has never done anything wrong in the house! No accidents as a puppy, and never got into anything she wasn’t supposed to. She can be found throughout the day lounging in one of her many favourite spots. We hike together several times a week, and she is very reliable off leash. Ever lives with 2 other dogs (both herders), and gets along fabulously with both. She strikes the perfect balance of avoiding conflict while standing her ground as necessary.
Ever stands out in the arena of dog sports. We train and trial in disc and agility, and she has proven talented at both. Her favourite activity is disc, and she excels at it. Her pure athleticism is something to behold, and I get comments on her abilities wherever I take her. She routinely beats all the herding dogs in our club, and has been the top scoring poodle in Canada in K9 Toss and Fetch. Training her in any endeavour is a joy as she brings enthusiasm and determination to everything we tackle. While we have concentrated on agility and disc, I have also trained her in obedience and feel this has been a missed opportunity for us in competition. She definitely has what it takes to excel in the obedience arena. Her toy drive is high, as is her food drive. She brings full enthusiasm, power and intensity to everything she does, and makes me look like a better handler than I am.
Ever was the easiest puppy I’ve ever had, and is a talented and fun sports partner.
