Stunning wildlife photograph captures peregrine falcon in the form of a B-2 bomber! See the amazing shot by photographer Thomas Kaestner in La Jolla, San Diego. Patience and preparation pay off in wildlife photography, and this photograph is a testament to that.

Our family is beyond distraught and heartbroken; swollen eyes and tears. After over a year of construction and the new doggie room being finished, finally plans for a next litter being formed.....our precious Maggie was hit and killed instantly last night. Please, pray for us and hold those babies tight. I am regretting all the lost time this renovation project has cost with our pups. When I brushed her the other day I was telling her about all the new fun we were about to have.

To be clear, all our babies sleep inside at night and rotate out for play time during the day. This year-long construction project has challenged the security of our play yard. Jeff and I took our first weekend away since long before his heart transplant and had been gone 12 hours. Strict instructions were given to supervise everyone when they were in the yard. A distraction occurred and Maggie found a way out to pursue her favorite vice - chasing chickens. She must have found they were all asleep and gone down to the road. We have been blessed and protected through the other construction mishaps, but that was not the case this time. We missed fall and spring breedings because of the chaos and debris. The plan was for a fun summer of lake and ocean visits, then to breed this fall. Our stubborn, food-loving, "why should I get the stick when the others will swim it to the shore for me" girl is having her party in puppy heaven without us. We will regroup and spend extra time with Xena, her full sister. They irritated each other, but they loved each other a lot. We appreciate prayers and the outreach.

Updated - we are home and went through the yard. There is a side "gate" that has been stationary and tied down for years; blocked with bricks. Through construction it has had to be used. Some of the tie-downs keeping it stationary have been cut to move materials through and some of the bricks moved around to other areas. This created a situation where Maggie could force her weight against it enough to swivel it and squeeze out. Not an area we have ever had issues with, not one we thought to inspect

Life is keeping us more than busy, but I had to share Reggie sleeping in his crate, today. You can tell he is a very uptight boy (-:. He ate some breakfast, went out and played, then a rainstorm hit....

Stella is doing well!!! Thank you for praying!!!

One of our CRL family needs prayers. One of our puppy parents contacted me to let me know Stella, from our 2019 litter, has gotten into some poison. It is not looking good. )-:.

Apparently, the link I posted did not work. The language is a bit strong, but the point is a good one. Crate training has always been a blessing for all our babies.

Borrowed:
I’m not even gonna be pleasant about this.
Crate train your damn dog. It’s not cruel, it’s not a punishment, it’s not irresponsible or lazy, you don’t have to regularly crate them just make sure they are comfortable in a crate.
You know what is cruel, irresponsible and lazy? Making emergency responders, animal control and any other search and rescue person decide which dogs they can and cannot take during a disaster. I can promise you the choice will always have to be the dogs that crate. Absolutely no shelter, hotel, evacuation station etc has to take your dogs, it’s a privilege and in many cases cannot be extended to you and your uncratable dog. It’s also cruel to your dog. Should your dog need to be crated, it’s 100% YOUR fault if your dog is miserable and scared being in the crate.
And please spare me the time of telling me you will never have a need for your dog to be crated, not one single person who has ever dealt with an emergency thought they would either.

Some pics from a fun session at 7.5 weeks! This is the one little guy hanging out with us; he turned 9 weeks, yesterday. Crate and potty training are going really well.

The magnificent 7 are 8-weeks-old, today! 6 of them will be settled in their forever families by the end of the weekend. The true joy every new family shows about adding one of our babies to their family is what makes all the hard work worth it!

Puppy parents....I will be sending personal updates, soon. We experienced the puppy pool for the first time, yesterday! We slept in closed crates for a bit. We go for our first vaccinations in the morning. We do nails, ears, and general snuggles quite well. Another big milestone....we have been on solid kibble, and love it, for almost a week. I will be sending out nursery notes this week, as Gotcha Day gets close! Blessings to all!

OK, the very delayed connection finally allowed some more pics to upload! We have a lot of attitude in this litter! Some are duplicate photos with the last post.
You will note that sometimes you do not interrupt your nap even if you are being weighed. Also, please, excuse our lint. Mommy washes our blankets over-and-over...she likes us to have soft ones,..but the bleach really wears on them. So, we sometimes pick up extra fuzzies! And no, despite the cute kid's request, Mommy says we have to go make other families complete (Leigha wants to keep most of us, except when she has to help clean up after us(-:)!!!

PS - does anyone think that one of the beautiful chocolates looks like "Angry Puppy"?

Also, the pup on the scale does not have something on his leg, that is the reflection of the stainless on his coat.

Here are some casual pics from tonight (the babies will be 5 weeks, tomorrow). It is going so fast. When a technical issue resolves, I will post more from this evening (this is not everyone). Everyone is finishing their 2nd worming, have had their nails trimmed at least 4 times, is eating three meals of puppy mush a day, earning about a "B" on potty pads, and they love their toys. We will be scheduling our first vaccinations, tomorrow and picking up the puppy pool for our first deck play time! Personality tests at the end of the week; then, all parents will learn which munchkin is their forever baby.

Here are some pics of the Maggie x Argo litter at 3.5 weeks. These babies are developing beautifully! Their eyes are browning up, changing from their baby gray/blue. The flash really highlights that this transition is still occuring; but they were all so good for their mini photo shoot, I wanted to share them. Next week will bring more big changes! Maggie's bio is on our website at chapelridgelabradors.com and Argo is a beautiful boy owned by Quail Chase Labradors in AZ. http://www.quailchaselabradors.com/argo.html

Chapel Ridge Labradors - A Family Affair

We live in the beautiful hills of Tennessee with our Nubians, our rabbits, our chickens, our cat, a couple of horses, our aquaponics, our greenhouse, and most lovingly, our puppies! We have worked for many years to identify and breed to great lines, striving for the best English Labrador breed characteristics. We convert our home to a nursery to raise a litter and they are with one of our family members, continually. Our little farm is a passion for our family; my husband lost his career due to health issues and he enjoys putting his heart and soul into our little homestead. His firsthand experience delivering our puppy babies has impacted him greatly and he delivers on his promise of steak to “Mommy” after all her hard work! We would love to match you and one of our beautiful pups for a permanent, loving relationship, that will enhance your family for many years to come.

Our girl, Brandy:
