We watered our pasture yesterday and Peaches thought it was her personal playground. She’s such a happy and sweet dog.
Hank, formerly Rusty, is fitting right in and adjusting well in his new home. He’s already making friends at the local dog park. Yay for Hank!!!
If you need a laugh for the day…here you go. So I got Sira and Enzo out for a walk. I was only going to walk one at a time but they were doing so great together, even around the cats. So I decided to take them on a longer walk. We made it a good distance and my cat, Maurice, decided he and Enzo needed to play. Enzo agreed but insisted I go with them. Yes, I’m banged up but I will be perfectly fine. Don’t apologize for laughing because I can’t stop laughing at myself. Have a great week!🐶😜🤪😂
I forgot to add that you can Venmo @angela-young-174. Thanks so much!
Meet the mom and son duo that were successfully rescued from a horrible situation. Sira (Mom) and Enzo (son) are now in the arms of Southern Mutts. They have been through so much but we leave no “man” or “woman” left behind. Both are full blooded Great Danes and both are partially blind and Enzo is also partially deaf. This is my (Laura) first time fostering Great Danes and let me tell you…they eat A LOT! I told Angie I would foster dogs…not horses! 😂 That being said we are in need of dog food and/or donations badly. And thanks to Leflore Ace Hardware…they have agreed to be a drop off location for Southern Mutts. We can’t thank them enough. So while you’re dropping off…take a stroll through their store. I’m fairly certain they have something you need! Again…thanks in advance for the donations and thanks to Leflore Ace Hardware.
Ms.Smokey is now with us. Another surgery dog. It just keeps coming this year. She had ten pups. They have the most wrinkles on their little faces. Not asking for donations yet but get ready. If you have been to the vet recently you know what we are going thru even with rescue pricing.
Miss Posey is the epitome of a loving mom. Posey was found hungry with babies but she continued to nurse her babies with a leg broken in five places, instead of being selfish and leaving them. Those puppies are now in good homes. Miss Posey however, had to have her leg amputated and she had to stay at the vet clinic for two weeks. She finally made it to me and wow! She is the sweetest thing and you can see how happy she is to have her cone off! She’s so friendly and excited just to be able to get outside. And gorgeous! She is absolutely gorgeous. She needs a little more weight on her but that will come. I’ll make sure of it. All of that being said…even with Dr. Roberts’ kind generosity, it was still expensive to Southern Mutts. With her surgery, tending to the massive infection and the stay…it gets pricey. If anyone is generous enough to even donate a dollar Southern Mutts’ information is below. Thank you so much for liking, commenting and sharing our page. We couldn’t do this without our great community and animal lovers. Thank you all, Laura

Rilee and my newest foster, Foreman, are taking our morning walk. Rilee is the sweetest. She loves cats, dogs, horses, cows and people. She’s not the greedy gut I expected so when taking a treat, she is the gentlest and most polite little girl. She’s put on some weight but still waiting on her hair to come in and wounds to heal. At first she wasn’t interested in leaving her kennel but now she’s all excited and has learned our routine. Foreman loves to walk along with us, as well as Maurice and Abby (cats). The cats run under her belly and gets self inflicted rubs from Rilee. That causes a delay in our walks because Rilee stops to let them get their Rilee loves. I have four kittens that are quite the active little guys and Rilee wants to play so badly with them but the kittens have said no to that idea as of now. Just like Hope…I can’t wait to see her progress in the long run. Pretty girls walk like this….
This is the little pup that was with the two other dogs in Itta Bena,Ms. Doesn’t he look great now and he had a best friend. Ashley Bowlin and family are adopting him.
This is a video of when Jumbo was found. Gaila took him home and started his new future.
Rilee is everything her name means…strong and courageous. She also has a gentle soul. For a dog that has weathered the conditions she has experienced, she is constantly wagging her tail, snuggling, and being the sweetest to all of my other fosters and personal cats. We sat in her kennel yesterday together for a while so she could adapt to her surroundings and all she did was put her little BIG head in my lap and take in all the loves. She is going to do great. And if you notice in some of the pics, she literally smiles! I’m so honored to be Rilee’s foster and to be able to watch her transformation. Thank you Southern Mutts for entrusting me with this sweet girl. 🐶, Laura
