Petasites hybridus 🪻🌿
Butterbur, also known as bog rhubarb, Devil’s hat, and pestilence wort. In Estonian “katkujuur” (plague root). Butterbur may have derived from the use of leaves to wrap butter centuries ago. In traditional medicine it is used to treat migraines, infections, fever, flu, colds, hay-fever, and allergies. But there are concerns of possible liver toxicity. 🤓

We had our first “after agility field run” yesterday! It was such a lovely evening and I planned to take the later train so we had time to run and dig for critters. ☺️🌸
And today it is rainy and tomorrow it’s supposed to snow…☹️
But the forecast promises that spring weather is back next week - and next week is my vacation! 🤩

I was sooooo ready for the weekend. 🥱
We have had quite a busy week - Sunday was competition day, on Monday we had dog walk lesson, on Tuesday we just had a nice long walk, on Wednesday Peppa spent a day with me at work and got her vaccines and on Thursday we had our regular agility lesson 🫨
Current plan is to take it easy this weekend 🌸

This weekend we are kicking off this year’s competition season! Still doing a few A0 starts but we are already doing slaloms in regular lessons in the middle of the course (with varying success 😅)- so A1 is on the horizon! 🤩

It is unfortunately not so spring-like anymore today - we got snow and and it is -10C but the sun is getting more powerful each day ☀️😊

Soooo, remember us? 😅
It’s February already and we haven’t posted a single photo in 2024 - in the beginning I was sick, then the weather was so awful (super cold, snow and then icy and slushy 🥶). Currently it is still super icy in many places - I have fallen twice, almost hitting my face both times! 😵💫 But today was sunny and felt a little like spring already, so we took a nice walk in the old town ☀️

Let the Christmas madness begin - I have to buy few more things tomorrow, wrap the presents, then take Christmas photos with Peppa and Sniff, clean my room and much more! 🤪
But first we will have a looooong sleep in with no alarm. Well Peppa will be my alarm at 7-8ish but we go out for a quick p*e and then sleep for few more hours 😋

Day 21!
Today we had agility again and Peppa is on the 2nd week of her heat… Usually it means a disaster - she is distracted and in bad mood and we usually skip 2nd and 3rd week trainings altogether. But today she was so good!! Didn’t struggle with her usual startline stays which I was afraid would happen and was willing to work with me happily. 🥰

Today’s greetings are from Sniff! 😸
He loves sleeping in on my table because it is the same height as the hot radiator. In the mornings he waits behind our door to be let in and runs to his place with my things flying everywhere 😅

We went on nice long walk today and got some pictures with Christmas lights 🎄🐶
Tomorrow we will bring home the Christmas tree and decorate it - I wish I could find a nice crestie ornament! 😇

Day 18!
3 years ago today we went to our first agility introduction lesson! 🤩
We haven’t gotten far in world of competing - we aren’t even in official classes yet - but we have learned and grown so much in those years. And we are having fun together, which is our main goal 🤗🩷
Biggest thanks to our amazing trainers and friends at who keep us motivated to strive forward in the world of agility 🥰

We have had 2days of plus degree weather and rain so it’s nice to look back to those clean and snowy pictures. I don’t even know if we can get a nice photo with our neighbourhood Christmas tree this year due to this melty gross weather 😕

Well it’s 17th already for us, oops! 😅
A week until Christmas and I have almost no gifts bought… again! 🤦♀️ I’m the one getting all the pets in the family gifts and I even don’t have those yet, but that is the easy part! 🎾🥓 Getting the humans gifts is hard, but I’m going shopping tomorrow - fingers crossed I find interesting stuff 🤞

Day 14!
We had a really tiring agility lesson today with lots of running and I’m about to fall asleep (Peppa is not, she thought we should have a play session instead 🙄)
So here’s another photo before I forget 😅 Have you noticed that Peppa mostly turns her left side towards me on pictures more often than right? (I rarely flip images, because I can’t get used to the flipped image)
I guess it’s her good side 😋
Did you know that studies have found that people also believe the left side of human faces to be more photogenic as it expresses more emotions (something to do with how our brains control and express emotions) 🤔
