It's unfair to judge your past mistakes by the knowledge and understanding you have today. You didn't know then what you know now.
We have all made choices we regret, but what has happened has happened. No amount of shame will ever be enough to change the past. Yes, apologize. Yes, do everything in your power to heal the wounds. But do not allow past choices to define your life or the life of anyone else.
When Lazarus comes back to life, don’t be the one who wants to force him back into the tomb.
