We were joined this morning by McDonald's Canada CEO John Betts. He announced that as of September, they will once again be serving 100% . Thanks to the resilience of producers, they were able to maintain 80% Canadian beef supply over the last few months.

In addition, McDonald's will add the Quarter Pounder to their certified sustainable offering!

John thanks the industry for being great supporters and partners to McDonald's Canada.

In response to the discovery of Prussian carp, the Saskatchewan Sportfish Research Group, the University of Regina, in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation & Saskatchewan Environment is researching the distribution of this invasive species in our province.

A designated reporting email ([email protected]) has been created to allow citizens to report their sightings of Prussian carp in the province.

They are asking for a photo, GPS location, and the date of sighting to be emailed to the report line to assist our research. To date, they have had confirmed reports that have expanded the known range of Prussian Carp in our province as well as reports that alter the known timeline of their invasion.

With this year's Covid-19 restrictions, they are unable to conduct research on the usual scale, so citizen scientists are more important than ever! Please contact the SaskTip number at #5555 or 1-800-667-7561 to report the fish species and ask how to humanely deal with the species.
