NWWF 2024, 6 horse free drive August 14,2024. Eight 6 horse hitches all in Whatcom County
The Percherons’ origin is shrouded in myth, for the breed precedes documentation by several centuries.
Originating in the area of Le Perche, France, they carried Knights into battle & today are used for driving, plowing, logging, riding & family fun. Join us as we enjoy the beauty of these gentle giants! ~ The Wilders

Northwest Washington Fair. August 14, 2024
🇺🇸 Wishing you & your loved ones a happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
We were asked to pull the Everett Fire Department's steam fire engine through their Independence Day parade. 🚒 The firefighters & their families are wonderful folks and we always feel honored to be given this opportunity. As you look at the horses (L-R), we used Havoc, Pat and Colton.
The horses were fan favorites and after the parade we spent 20 minutes or so letting the fire fighter families pet the horses. 🇺🇸 It was a wonderful way to celebrate Independence Day. 🇺🇸
Much thanks to Ken, Jim and Trinity for spending their day with Curt and me (Terrie) AND the horses! And much thanks to Vicki for braiding with me early this morning! It takes an experienced team of people to make this happen.
If you know, you know. 😄
Valley View Percherons is living it up at the Puyallup Fair! Stop in and say “Hi”!

𝑼𝑷𝑫𝑨𝑻𝑬: 𝑨𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒍 𝑭𝒐𝒐𝒍𝒔!
Some of you noticed that Carson is a gelding... "he's" and "his". Good on you! 😄
You guys! We're SO EXCITED! Our family used to breed Percherons but it became more and more difficult to have someone present when mares foaled and there's no guarantee that a dappled grey Percheron mare bred to a dappled grey Percheron stallion will produce a dappled grey foal (they're born black). So for the most part we don't breed and raise up foals anymore. I certainly miss seeing those babies in the fields.
SO, THE NEWS! We just found out that our newest horse, Carson, is with foal!!! (This isn't 𝐡𝐢𝐬 photo... 𝐡𝐞'𝐬 still in Canada.) I can hardly wait to see another beautiful baby Percheron running around the paddocks. It's been years! I've missing seeing those adorable long legs, the long eyelashes, the fuzzy coat and the adorable nickers. ❤️❤️❤️
Having Fun is What it's all About: Willard Wilder hops on board one of his favorite horses, Valley View Koncaralta Degas, "Kon." The dapple grey stallion was part of the Valley View Percherons breeding operation in the eighties. Over thirty-five years later, this horse would have stacked up well against today's competition: look at his heel.
Beautiful!

Heading to the show ring for the 6-Horse-Hitch Confirmation class; we took 1st this night with Curt on the lines and daughter, Pamela, on the seat and son, Patrick, leading the way. 2019 Draft Horse Extravaganza, Monroe. We are so very grateful to our family and friends for their hard work and generous spirit - helping with the show season. It wouldn't happen without them.
A VERY wet day at the Burlington Berry Dairy Days parade. The rain didn't dampen anyone's spirit though. There was a terrific crowd and it was a fun day of friends, family and horses!
Here's a short video of the 5 draft horse hitches & 1 pony hitch (stables in the draft barn, too) at the Puyallup Fair entering the arena. We've all known each other for years & years. There are NO secrets in the draft horse barn. lol

The 6-Horse-Hitch Free Drive at the 2013 Northwest Washington Fair, Lynden. It looks very orderly & perhaps even orchestrated in the video but when you watch the free drive in person you know fully well how challenging & risky this presentation is. I don't know if it's true, but we've been told by someone who would likely know that this is the only 6-Horse-Hitch Free Drive in the world! True or not, it's a great sight to see these beautiful horses & the skill of the drivers!
