It's been over a year since we posted on this page so I thought it was time for a quick update 😊 including Christmas Fun Show Details.

Xmas Fun Show
Fun show 13th December at Kirkley Hall.
Everyone welcome (dogs will need agility experience)
6-9pm

Three runs
Agility
Jumping
Steeplechase

⭐️one grade 1-4
⭐️One grade 5-7
⭐️Non weaving course too

£15 a dog ❤️❤️

Training Updates
☑️ We are currently training from the indoor arena at Kirkley Hall; we only teach agility.
☑️ Training is a Monday and Tuesday evening with two instructors running classes side by side (there is plastic fencing down the middle)
☑️ There are occasional workshops on a Friday evening; these are usually offered to class goers in the first instance.
☑️ There are waiting lists in place; its rare we ever get spaces as there are only 5 spaces per class available. You can email the corresponding instructor via the website as the main [email protected] will no longer be a point of contact in the new year.
☑️ Rebecca is now on mat leave until next year so her classes are being run by Ema.

We appreciate its frustrating for those wanting to start agility and we can't give you a timescale.

Today the inbox surpassed 1000 survey training requests.

That’s not a typo…there are currently 1007 surveys that have been filled out by people looking to train.

It’s both fantastic and sad at the same time. So many people with dogs wanting to train and we don’t have the space, not even for 10% of those that have emailed over the last couple of years.

Sometimes we get emails from frustrated people who really want to train, but we just can’t offer anything.

A few things to remember since we moved venue;
✔️ we only do agility
✔️ we only train Monday through to Thursday after 5pm
✔️ we only take dogs from 8 months+
✔️ we currently don’t have any spaces for beginners
✔️ we run on a rolling monthly term basis - paid in advance
✔️ once in a class it’s the same time every week; we know this makes it hard for shift workers but our overheads leave us with very little flexibility
✔️ our email auto reply usually answers most questions and if that doesn’t our website does; this means you’ll probably not hear from us unless we have a space….which in some cases could take several months or even years.

One day we might have the ability to offer more but I think that day is a long way off or a lottery win away.

Saying its been super quiet on our socials is probably an understatement 😆

The club continues to run from the wonderful indoor venue at Kirkley Hall, but with a limited timetable. This means we still have waiting lists in place for all classes. You can be added to a waiting list via our website. There are only agility classes available.

Classes are back next week. The old arena is having an overhaul soon so it will be great to see what it looks like come Spring.

As always we are still on the lookout for that elusive bit of land to do a bit of outdoor stuff on.

Hopefully everyone has had a wonderful rest ready for the 2023 season.

Next Timetable 

The weather has made the next timetable a little messy, so I’ve done my best to make sense of the next couple of months - as I’m also away (and we have the North East Dog Festival in September) some may be covers, and some timetables will have different start/end dates for different instructors - I'm hoping I've got my dates in the right order.

please only pay attention to your instructors dates. 

The next term dates are as follows; if you know you won't be continuing please let me know well in advance so I've got a chance to sort lists. If we have spaces we will start to email people soon.

Just a friendly reminder that if you are in the first class or last class, instructors really appreciate help to put the equipment out/clear away so we can run as close to time as possible. (this includes being ready to walk any course set so classes can start on time) even if it's just putting jump cups in or helping to carry sandbags.

I’ve cancelled tonight and tomorrow evenings classes; the predicted forecast is extremely hot to be working indoors.

It’s been a busy few weeks as this current term draws to a close. Monday was too hot so it was a night off for the dogs.

Next Monday and Tuesday is set to be hotter so we will be keeping an eye on the forecast.

Rare spaces are available at 6pm Tuesday with Dawn at Kirkley Hall

This class is for dog’s who have some experience of agility

⭐️ next term spaces ⭐️

Our club currently has spaces in the following; suitable for dogs that are comfortable working around other dogs, have a recall and basic level of obedience. Ideally your dogs will have done a taster or some agility previously. If you are a complete beginner, we may be able to accommodate you depending on the class. Min age 10 months.

Agility class spaces are in;
Tuesday 5.30pm
Tuesday 6.00pm
The above classes take place with a split arena. I.E a fence down the middle and a trainer and class either side. This would not be suitable for dogs that reactively chase.

Tuesday 5.45pm
The above class takes place in the old arena, this is the only class running at the time.

£70 per dog. Dates are Tuesday
21st June, 28th June, 5th July, 12th July, 19th July, 26th July

We spend a lot of time ensuring dogs go into suitable classes so please don’t be disappointed if we can’t offer you a space.
