This is one of those posts that I never thought we would have to make as Sally's Home. As of March 31, 2024 Sally's Home will no longer be in service as we officially close our doors to our animal sanctuary. I am so thankful for all of the wonderful people I have met, animal rescues I was able to connect with and support and various events we were able to attend to promote and educate the welfare of animals and the importance of animal rescue.
Due to personal issues, we have had to officially close the door to Sally's Home and to answer many of the questions, yes sadly many of the cats here will have to be rehomed. We are working tirelessly to ensure that they are rehomed and treated with the dignity, care and love they all so deserve.
Sadly, due to the economy, lack of support, funds, and personal issues we have had to ultimately close the doors to our animal sanctuary.
I also want to thank each and every one of you for supporting us and continue to support us in our separate and new journey. I will forever advocate for the rights and health for community cats and ferrets, which is something that will not change. This page and our other social media will become inactive on March 31.
Thank you to everyone and will still be in touch at various events. Always continue the message of Sally's Home and that is to be kind and to keep it going forward.

much love,

M.

Hi everyone! I am Sidney and wanted to wish everyone a happy Halloween! This year I dressed up like a witch and it was tough finding the right costume! Hope all our furry friends and human friends have a safe night… now I am going to try to convince mom to give me some twix. She keeps telling me, “no, I can’t have that” and hides them from me! The nerve 😬😑 but she gave me a salmon margarita instead and said it’s more “diet appropriate”. Personally, think it tastes just as yummy!

Here's a solution if community cat waste is a problem in your or your neighbor's yard:

Cats using your neighbor's flower garden as a bathroom is one unwanted behavior that TNR does not solve. You can help your cats be better neighbors by providing them with their own outdoor litter box.

Two inexpensive options are a hard plastic kiddie pool or a large cement mixing tub. For litter boxes in an area protected from the elements, use just a couple of inches of wood shaving animal bedding instead of conventional clay litter. It will absorb odor about as well as clay litter, but it’s much less expensive! The wood shavings are super lightweight and biodegradable. If you don’t have a sheltered area for litter boxes, use play sand. You may want to drill a few holes in the bottom of the container to allow for drainage.

Giving your cats an easy place to dig and bury will help tremendously with keeping them from going in the neighbor's fresh mulch. The more you can do to keep the peace, the better it will be for your cats.
