Reggie came up to Oshkosh, WI this past weekend in the hopes of being shown…but instead, I had to end up judging today due to the blizzard causing all but two judges to be unable to get there. She was quite happy being my hotel buddy!

As 2024 starts, I can’t help but reflect on how proud I am of what Christian accomplished in limited showing in 2023. He became a multiple specialty winner, multiple group winner, and a Reserve Best in Show winner. In addition to this, he has sired two champions (from a litter of two!) out of his first litter, with a puppy from his second litter debuting later this month.

I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for this stunning dog!

On the first day of 2024, I want to celebrate Kaidi and Jaime Larkman. When Kaidi went up north, I couldn’t have imagine what these two could accomplish…I am just in awe!

In 2023 alone they won the Canadian National Specialty, 102 toy groups, 20 reserve BIS awards, and 25 BIS awards resulting in her being Canada’s number one Toy dog (for the entire year!) and ended up in the top five for All Breeds as well as the top winning Havanese bitch in Canadian history!

I’m not sure what 2024 holds for these two, but I can’t wait to see!

Happy fourteenth birthday to Holly, the best dog in the world!

She quickly earned her championship, is the dam to eight champions (five of which are group winners or placers), and is behind every Askin Havanese. But more importantly, she is the most delightful dog to live with. I have never seen a dog get more excited for meal time or bed time, and she’s an amazing cuddler. While it’s a little sad to see her age, I treasure every day with her.

So excited that Puffin can now be known at CH Askin Broadway Premiere as of this past weekend! She was entirely owner-handled by Lois Ann Snyder to her title…thank you Lois for being such a fantastic owner!

Puffin is the second champion sired by Christian, following in her sister Karma’s footsteps. Though he’s only sired two litters, I have to say I’m thrilled with what he’s produced so far! She is also the 41st champion bred by me.

Somehow I forgot to brag about two of our new champions this fall!

Karma (CH Premiere Askin For Trouble At WyHaven) and Chandra (CH Oeste Askin Moonlight Romance) became our 38th and 39th champions bred by Askin! We are incredibly proud of both of these beautiful girls!

Regina won Best of Breed and a Toy Group 4 this weekend at the Edwardsville Illinois Kennel Club under judge Mary Ellen Meyer! She doesn’t get shown as much as I would like, but I am incredibly proud of this girl.

Beyond thrilled that Telly can now be known at CH Askin Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! after winning her second major this weekend at the Wine Country Kennel Club under judge Jan Ritchie Gladstone! With the lack of majors in the Midwest and my lack of time to get to shows to show her, I sent her west to Camp McFadden in search of majors and learn how to walk on a leash…🤣

Telly is the 39th champion havanese to be bred by me, but in even more exciting news, she is the tenth champion produced by Susy, which means that she has earned her ROMX from the Havanese Club of America! Proud doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel!
