Hysterocrates Gigas is the only known tarantula to be capable and actually quite fond of swimming!

More commonly called the giant baboon tarantula, or the Cameroon red baboon, in it's native wilderness in Cameroon it has actually been seen to swim and hunt fish!

Last night I refilled the water bowl of Sebastian's H. Gigas and within a minute it had come out of it's burrow to bathe in the fresh water 😆

It's pretty crazy to think this was 2 years after committing to dog walking as a full time venture, and yet already 7 more years have passed since 😳

The good thing is I haven't had any trouble with my knees or ankles yet, and by the time I do need them replaced, I'll probably be able to buy replacements in the supermarket! 🤖🤣

We welcomed this Cyriopagopus Lividus (Cobalt Blue) tarantula to our home last night! It's got a rep for being a bit unpredictable, scatty and defensive but the rehouse was perfect! 🥰

First encounter with a morio worm this morning for the tarantula! 😬 We suspect it may have molted last week but it keeps hiding and I can't catch a decent photo to compare! It seemingly waited for the venom to weaken the worm before attacking again and dragging it down into it's burrow! 😳
