Back to our old stomping ground of Wareham forest this morning on a break between jobs.

I've foraged an excellent haul of old bark for the growing tarantula clan and the husky girls are very content already with 2 and a half hours walking behind us, still with another 3 to go before we're finished!

Sebastian and myself walked this route yesterday morning and upon witnessing the trees on the embankments bending under the force of the wind he said to me "maybe we should turn back before they fall on us!"

I'm walking the same route this morning and at least two of those trees have fallen right across the trailway between then and now! 🫣

First encounter with a morio worm this morning for the tarantula! 😬 We suspect it may have molted last week but it keeps hiding and I can't catch a decent photo to compare!

It seemingly waited for the venom to weaken the worm before attacking again and dragging it down into it's burrow! 😳

Second time in ten years I've seen the Stour flood from one edge of the flood defences right across to the other.... And both times have been this year! 🫣
