Sometimes things don’t go as planned and that’s where we can help 💖

Today we were called out to help a client whose horses unfortunately had a less-than-ideal clip job right before needing to be show-ring ready. Uneven lines, missed spots, and an overall finish that just wasn’t there.

Our team came in, corrected the clips, cleaned up the lines, blended everything properly, and made sure each horse looked polished and professional. The end result?

Happy horses, relieved owners, and clips that are show-ready and ring-appropriate ✨

This sweet guy came had a heavy coat, and after a bath and a fresh clip, he’s now sleek, shiny, and ready to enjoy the Florida weather comfortably. Nothing like a good grooming session to reset and refresh! 🤩🫧

🖤 Baby Theo Update 🖤

The BEST baby we’ve started so far 👏🏼 We’re so pleased to have him in our program, this boy’s future is bright!

Theo is now confidently going in all three gaits under saddle with a lovely natural rhythm. He’s steering, halting, and taking everything in stride. We’ve just begun introducing soft contact and encouraging more suppleness, and he’s showing incredible willingness and talent with every ride.

With a Grand Prix sire behind him, it’s no surprise he’s proving to be the full package. Excited to continue bringing him along! ✨🐴

What is Equine Herpesvirus (EHV)?

You've probably heard it called Rhinopneumonitis, a respiratory tract disease that results in "snotty noses," but EHV is more than that. Depending on the strain, this virus can also cause abortion in broodmares, and equine herpesvirus myeloencephalopathy (EHM) — the often-deadly neurologic form of the disease.

Because EHV is endemic in many equine populations, most mature horses have developed some immunity through repeated natural infection. However, they remain a source of infection for other susceptible horses, like weaned foals and yearlings, who usually display symptoms of the respiratory form of the disease in autumn and winter. Performance and show horses are also more vulnerable to the disease, as they commingle with unfamiliar equines in close quarters while under stress from travel and competition.

Proper biosecurity protocols can help reduce EHV outbreaks and other disease transmission. A variety of vaccines are also available for protection against both the respiratory and abortive form of the disease, but there is no equine licensed vaccine at this time that has a label claim for protection against the neurologic form (EHM).

Consult your primary equine veterinarian to learn more about this disease and work with them to determine the optimal vaccine protocol for your horses.
