Operation Pets Alive is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit striving for a No-Kill Montgomery County. Our Trap, Neuter and Returned (TNR) program.

Since our formation 10 years ago we have focused on four life-saving programs. We alter and vaccinate cats now living in managed colonies. This limits breeding and reduces intake of cats and kittens at our local shelter. Our Targeted Spay and Neuter program is currently working on an “In- clinic Clinic” concept which will bring low cost spay and neuter services to those areas in Montgomery County

that turn the most animals into local shelters. We have also partnered with another non-profit, K-9 Corral, to alter 1465 dogs in New Caney, Splendora, Porter & other areas of east Montgomery County where resources for having pets altered are limited. We have adopted over 1050 dogs and cats to our local community through our Foster/Adoption program. All are up-to-date on vaccinations, spay and neutered and are placed in suitable homes. Finally, our transport programs, Pups on Trucks, Flight for Life, & Puppies and Kittens with Wings, supplement local rescue efforts by sending “at risk” dogs, puppies or kittens to partnering shelters and rescues in the Northeast, and other areas of the country where these transport candidates realize a 99.9% save rate. The average live-release rate for our area shelters is currently 50-60%. As of January 2016, OPA has transported over 3,000 local dogs and kittens to families in Northeast, and other areas of the country where there is a greater demand for adoptable pets. 🎉 Big News! Tuck Found His Forever Home! 🎉

Please join us in celebrating Tuck’s adoption—a moment we’ve all been waiting for! This lovable 16-month-old pup has spent almost his entire life in rescue, but yesterday at the incredible Regal Theater event, his journey finally led him home!

After a long wait, Tuck has found a family that will love and cherish him every single day. His story is a beautiful reminder that no matter how long the road, there’s always hope and a forever home waiting.

Yesterday’s adoption event at the Regal Theater in Tomball was nothing short of amazing! The beautiful weather, the excitement of the Dog Man movie release, and the joy of seeing our pups find their forever homes made for a truly unforgettable day.

SEVEN adoptions—each one a heartwarming new beginning! A huge congratulations to Green, Eleanor, McKinley, Pink, Glacier, and Dexter on their Gotcha Day! We are so thrilled for these sweet pups and their new families.

A massive THANK YOU to our incredible fosters, transporters, and volunteers who made this event a success. It truly takes a village! ❤️

We’re already looking forward to our next Regal Theater event in May for the release of Lilo & Stitch—more fun, more adoptions, and more love for our OPA animals!

🚨 HARPER'S LONGEST WAIT 🚨

Hey everyone! This is Harper, the sweet girl who has been waiting for her forever home for a heartbreaking 2000+ days. 😢 She’s around 8 years old and has been so patient—she truly deserves a loving family to call her own! 💖

Harper is a Lab-Australian Cattle Mix, and she’s basically the perfect girl! 🐕 She’s dog, kid, and people-friendly and already knows her basic commands. Plus, she’s **treat motivated** and always eager to learn new things! 🦴📚

Harper gets along with most other dogs, but she can be a little selective. She tends to get along better with male dogs than females, so she’d do great in a home where she’s the only dog—or with proper introductions to other dogs! 🐶💕

She’s also full of energy and loves her zoomies, so a high fenced yard would be perfect for her to run and play! 🚀 Plus, she’s great in the car, housebroken, and crate trained—so she’s pretty much ready to settle in wherever she goes! 🏡✨

Helping People Save Pets

Since our formation ten years ago we have focused on four life-saving programs: Community Cats, Spay/Neuter, Local Adoption and Transport.

Through our Community Cat Program we trap, alter and vaccinate free-roaming cats in Montgomery County. This limits breeding and reduces intake of cats and kittens at our local shelters. We also assist local shelters that do not yet have a Trap, Neuter, Return ordinance to save the life of feral cats turned into the shelter.

Our Spay and Neuter Program provides low-cost services to all citizens of Montgomery County with unaltered pets.

We have adopted over 6,000 dogs and cats to our local community through our Foster/Adoption Program. Our pets are showcased at locations throughout Montgomery County including at our cat café, The Great Catsby. All adoptable pets are up-to-date on vaccinations, spay and neutered, and are placed in suitable homes.
