Happy Pets York Taxi Service

We are a pet taxi service covering the city of York and surrounding areas within North Yorkshire. We are happy to transport any small animal pets you may have, such as cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, rabbits etc to your chosen location (be it a friends house or to your Veterinary Practice) Our primary concern is the safety and well being of your VIP (Very Important Pet), and Happy Pets York will guarantee your VIP’s comfort whilst entrusted in our care. We adhere strictly to the Animal Welfare Act and our service is run in accordance with DEFRA guidelines. . Your pet(s) will be secure in a pet carrier or cage which will be cleaned out after every use. This service is ideal if you do not have your own transport or have difficulty getting out and about. You only pay to transport your pet(s). If you wish to travel with your pet(s), you may do so FREE of charge (please note that we can only carry one owner who may travel to supervise their pet). PLEASE BOOK AT LEAST 4 HOURS IN ADVANCE. We provide cat carriers to transport your cat(s). Each carrier will be cleaned / sanitised following each use. A familiar blanket or toy to help them relax is advisable. We ask that they are not fed at least two hours before travelling. Cats in particular can feel quite ill if they travel on a full tummy. Small animals (hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, etc) and will be transported in a brand new and clean disposable pet carrier that is light and strong and has air holes. After use, the carrier will be disposed of. We are more than happy to transport dogs if the owner is present until we upgrade our vehicle to include installed cages.

Alternative Options - If the trip is to the vets we can transport your pet(s) ourselves without the owner and liaise with the vet on the owners behalf. The vet will then contact the owners with an update as to how their pet(s) are getting on. The client pays the vet over the phone and we can update the owner when we drop your pet back home. Routine Veterinary Appointments - Happy pets York Taxi Service is for routine appointments between the hours of 8.00am - 9.00pm Monday to Sunday. EMERGENCIES/ OUT OF HOURS - Out of hours emergency calls should be made to Tel: 07900288830 Charges - Veterinary Appointments: £12.00 per round trip plus 0.45p per mile (waiting time at the surgery of UP TO 30 mins) £22.00 per round trip plus 0.45p per mile (waiting time at the surgery of OVER 30 mins) £30.00 per round trip plus 0.45p per mile (waiting time at the surgery of 1 hour and OVER) Emergency Callout during veterinary surgery hours: £35.00 plus 0.45p per mile Out Of Hours Emergency Callout after surgery hours (between 8pm and 8am): £70.00 plus 0.45p per mile We are fully insured.
