Meet our amazing Wiggles!
Wiggles is a smart and energetic athletic boy who’s about one and a half years old and weighs 37 pounds. We’ve come to know Wiggles as a fun-loving guy, but he was found sad and stray, dragging a chain attached to his collar. The kind gentleman who found Wiggles recognized how sweet he was and couldn’t stand the idea of sending him to a shelter, so he kept Wiggles until we could find a foster family, where he now is happily learning to be a furry family member.
Although we believe that Wiggles hasn’t had much attention or any training throughout his young life, he is a quick and eager learner. He is now crate trained, housebroken, and is happily practicing leash manners. He would very much enjoy daily walks, and he’d be a great hiking buddy!
Wiggles is friendly with other dogs. He does like cats, but is way more interested in playing with them than they are in playing with him! We think Wiggles would be fine in a home with a dog-savvy cat if he is thoughtfully introduced and transitioned.
Wiggles is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventives. If you’d like to give Wiggles a forever home and have the time and patience to continue his training and show him a lifetime of love, please email [email protected] for an application

Meet our oh so special SCARLETT
Scarlett is an 11 month old lab mix who spent half in a shelter as she and her 7 siblings had been abandoned as babies. The siblings have since been adopted, but Scarlett had a damaged eye - which has now been removed and is ready to find her forever family!

Her foster mom immediately knew what a special girl she was. Scarlett was a little hesitant in her new surroundings at first, but quickly settled in, coming out of her shell and realizing the joy of being around other playful dogs and being a part of a loving family. She loves everyone she meets and would love to have a friendly furry brother or sister but would also soak up attention as an only dog. Scarlett loves to go on walks and car rides, she's great with kids, crate trained, housetrained and comfortable with a doggie door. She has been good with cats at adoption events but does not live with any.

Scarlett does have double luxating patella, which causes her to walk a little bow legged and pigeon toed. However she isn't in any pain and it hasn't stopped her from running around and keeping up with other active dogs! Though regular exercise will not correct her knees, it has definitely helped strengthen them.

If you're looking for a dog that you can take practically anywhere, this girl is for you. She would do great at restaurants, in stores, riding public transportation, at kids ball games, etc. - she is seriously so amazing and good natured. Scarlett has left her shelter days far in the past, understands what being in a family is all about and is only looking forward to what's to come, a loving caring home of her own.

Scarlett is microchipped, spayed, and up-to-date on all vetting. If you’d like to make Scarlett a member of your family, please email [email protected] for an application.

Such a wonder Boy!
Meet Stomper

BEING FOSTERED IN CT
Stomper is a super friendly and fun boy who is about 10 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He has plenty of puppy energy and we think he still has a little growing left to do. Stomper is great with other dogs and loves all people.

Stomper’s foster mom says “He enjoys running around and playing with other dogs and kids too. There isn’t a toy that he doesn’t love! Stomper is very treat oriented and eager to learn. We are working on his leash manners so that he’ll be ready for daily walks and other family activities. He will run and play hard, and then he is all about napping in his crate or on the couch afterwards!

Stomper is house broken and crate trained. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. Stomper is ready for a forever family to bring him home sweet home just in time to celebrate Spring. If you would like to adopt this wonderful young guy, please email [email protected] for an application.

Parrot is a super sweet seven-month old girl looking for a forever home. She weighs about 33 pounds, has scruffy fur which is low shed, long legs, and a friendly personality. It’s hard to believe that Parrot and her sisters were found stray and ended up in a crowded shelter, but even amidst the crowd, everyone who met them said they were sweet as pie. We’re so happy to have been able to send the girls to loving foster homes so that they can get ready for their new families to find them and bring them home.
Parrot is enjoying being part of a family in her foster home. She loves playing with other dogs, gets along with all the dogs in her foster home, and loves all people.
Parrot is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventives. If you’d like to make this adorable girl a member of your family, please email [email protected] for an application.

***ROCKY NEEDS A FOSTER SO HE CAN HAVE THE SURGURY HE NEEDS***

PLEASE LIKE AND/OR SHARE IF YOU CAN NOT FOSTER OR DONATE.

Rocky was recently diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia of his hind legs. Hip dysplasia is a genetic condition in which the hip joint doesn't develop properly, leading to instability and abnormal wear and tear of the joint. It results in arthritis, pain, and decreased mobility over time. It is more common in purebred larger dogs like Rocky the Boxer. Rocky has it in both hips and is having a hard time even going on short walks. His right hip (15% out) is worse than his left (5-10% out).

Right now, Rocky is under the care of the wonderful staff of Simon Foundation. Unfortunately, he cannot undergo his surgery until he has a foster home. It just isn't realistic for him to recover in a kennel. Rocky is a low-key, laid-back guy. He needs a quite environment to recover in. DDR would provide the foster with a sling/ back-end harness to help get him moving when he needs to go out and anything else needed. If you might be able to give Rocky a place to rest and recoup, please contact Michelle at [email protected].

Fundraising:

We have gotten two separate quotes for surgery for Rocky. It will cost approximately $3500 to $4300 per hip. Ideally, we would do one hip at a time, starting with the more afflicted hip, his right. We are raising funds for his procedures. All funds will go directly to Rocky's care. If we should exceed the funding amount, we need the remaining funds will go to another dog in need of medical care in the rescue. Right now, we are in the negative as he has been in boarding for quite some time. Please consider donating.
