Wylie, TX (~30 miles NE of Dallas) - 12YO male and female pitbulls

Nyla (55lbs) and Gotti (65lbs) are looking for a new home, preferably together.
They are both up to date on shots. Nyla is spayed but Gotti is not neutered. They are both friendly and enjoy laying around, playing and going for walks. They know how to sit on command and although they are losing their hearing now they are still very obedient.

Unfortunately they do not get along with other dogs/cats and have not been around many children. With a newborn in the house the family feels re-homing is their only option.

Shelter notes: "Sadly, Mavis is NOT eligible for foster care because when we put a dog into foster care, we commit to it medically until adopted. Sadly, our funds are far too low to make that sort of commitment for Mavis. That's why we are begging for an adopter who can take on whatever she may need. We are waiving her adoption fee to help those funds go towards whatever she may need."

There isn't much that gets this amazing staff down but seeing an old dog come into the shelter, scared and confused and knowing full well we may not be able to get her out alive is heart breaking.

Introducing MAVIS - she came in stray already chipped AND fixed and based on her chip, we know she is at least 12 years old. We've been trying to contact the owner on the chip every which way but they have not come forward yet. For an old gal, she gets around really well and tips the scales at just under 50 pounds. We suspect she has been mostly been an outside dog but still doesn't like to potty in her kennel so we feel like she's house broken.

We have about TEN dogs MORE than we have kennels and Mavis is VERY MUCH at risk of euthanasia. We don't know how she is with other animals but we WILL waive her adoption fee for anyone that can give her a soft place to land! Due to the serious overcrowding issues we are experiencing, she must leave the shelter by SATURDAY 12/2.
If you think you can help Mavis, please come in and meet her, her life depends on it. Sadly, we are NOT able to transport her out of the area.

Volunteer Noes: This sweet senior stole my heart today! Full of ticks and nearly blind, he ran into everything on the way out side😞.

Once outside he just wanted to explore all the smells and could see a little better but still bumped into stuff. We passed a dog outside and his tail wagged so fast over excitement to play with another dog. Looks like he’s had a collar on that was to tight or he’s been living on a chain by the looks of his neck. However, he’s so loving and a happy boy! He deserves a loving family to live out his senior years. 🙏

This is Ezekiel (Zeke)

With the relocation for my husband's job, we are having to rent and cannot take Zeke with us. Zeke has never bonded with our son, Brian, (he's two) and started p*eing anywhere that smells like Brian. We've tried diapers for him but he chews them off. We've tried dog trainers but they don't have any trouble with him.... I guess because there is no Brian smell?? I've taken him to the vet and made sure nothing was wrong with him - Vet said he is perfectly healthy. We are just so sad to lose him but our only other option is to make him an outside dog .... And he does not do well in the cold.

He must go to a loving, relaxed home. He is sweet and loving! All he wants to do is sit on the couch, curled up in a blanket with you while you share your snacks and he shares his warmth. He is good with cats and other dogs. He's never been great around kids. He doesn't bite at them or anything. He just barks and hides from them.

He has never been fully housebroken. He does much better with a crate and going outside on a schedule. He is neutered and up to date on all his shots. He has regular flea/tick/heartworm meds we give him monthly. He was recently taken to the vet to have a full check up done and vet said he was as healthy as a puppy!

My heart is breaking to have to re-home him. He has never bonded to our son and we have another baby on the way. He really prefers the more relaxed lifestyle he had with me before I was constantly chasing around our toddler.

😢❤️SWEET BELLA IS BACK TO THE SHELTER, IS EVIDENT THIS TIME HER EXPRESSION SHOWS SADNESS, PLEASE WE CAN'T LET HER DIE THERE🙏🆘
BELLA was just returned today 11/28 to the shelter. We can say this time, the adopter tried to make it work by the notes giving to the intake staff. She said Bella has separation anxiety, tried medication prescribed by the vet, she put her on the guest room where Bella destroyed a lot of things during the time was enclosed there. 😔. Please we cannot giving up on her, she went through a lot, she needs probably a retired person, a trainer, or just a lot of patience.
HERE WE GO AGAIN POSTING A NEW VIDEO, this time YOU CAN SEE CLEAR THE EXPRESSION ON HER FACE IS DIFFERENT, IS SADNESS, AVOIDING the volunteer filimg, she is about to giving up, and we don't want that PLEASE!

This precious innocent dog named BELLA has such a terrible sad story to tell, all I can say is that she never had a good owner, NEVER! so if you read this, I DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE, YOU ARE A TOTAL CRAP OWNER.
BELLA came original to this shelter in 2016 as a stray, but was returned to her call owner. Then, this past August 2023 she came as a stray again, because she was caught loose, and again returned to her owner! Then again, ended up stray, this time the call "owner" did not redeem her.
She was adopted in September, and returned because "was destructive at home". Then again, assisting to the Mega Event, got adopted again, but returned because has high prey drive, and becoming food aggressive, BUT good crate trained and housebroken. 🥺

All I can say is that BELLA is suffering, with all her life running out from the probably bad owner she had, been caught stray several times and returned like a package, she definitely is in despair. NOT DOG deserves this, BELLA can be confused, doesn't know what is going on, NOBODY really wants to give her a chance to decompress, to settle down, to adjust!
BELLA IS A BEAUTIFUL LABRADOR, a dog that is a great companion, loving pets, love swim, active for sure. and BELLA NEEDS A GOOD NEW HOME OR RESCUE.

Tequila is a beautiful 12 year old girl who has been dealt an incredibly cruel hand.
She has tested positive for both herpes type I and adenovirus.

Her temporary foster mom writes: “I pulled her for the weekend to give her a spa day because she was absolutely disgusting and in poor shape. She is sweet, docile, seems to be cat friendly, and still has plenty of life left. She needs a home either as the only dog, or with another dog who has Herpes, too. She doesn’t deserve to die because of an illness she didn’t choose.”

These are both livable diseases that just take some extra TLC to manage. They are not contagious to humans or cats but can be passed to other dogs. Going back to the shelter was a death sentence, meaning she would be euthanized. We couldn’t let that happen.

💜CYRANO IS A SENIOR DOG, WHO ONLY WANTED TO END HIS GOLDEN YEARS AT HOME, BUT OWNER DECIDED HAS NOT TIME FOR HIM, SO HE IS NOW AT THIS KILL SHELTER💜
Cyrano came on November 30,2023, as owner surrender, why? NOT TIME. Selfish decision as I'm sorry, is always time when you love your pet. Do you think Cyrano will care if you work 10 hr? or is the owner who is soooo tired to be taking care of this boy, who now is a homeless dog, dumped on a shelter overcrowded, loud, and full at whole times, exposed to get sick, I mean this is what the owner signed for when left the shelter and left him behind. KARMA OWNER, GOOD LUCK!
CYRANO -by his owner- is active, has anxiety when rains (all dogs in senior age get that at some point!), is good with people and other dogs (he is kenneled with a younger boy and they loved to each other now).
PLEASE CYRANO IS NOT DSIPOSABLE! HE DESERVES BETTER!! LORD WHEN THIS CRAP OWNERS WILL GO AWAY!!!??? sorry not sorry, they are selfish!! I worked so many hours myself, my dog died at 16 yrs old, I left p*e pads everywhere, I wanted her just to feel free to roam, and she will welcomed me everyday happy!! CYRANO wants that!! New Braunfels, TX - Piglet - 7+YO neutered female beagle/lab mix, HW+

Here's what my fosters have to say about me!

"She has come a long way in the past few weeks. At first, she was having accidents in the house, but as we got more used to her schedule and she to ours, I think we have that worked out. She hasn't had any accidents in 2 or three weeks.

She is a velcro dog! She loves to be with her people. She is wary and a little skittish around new people, but seems to quickly warm up with some reassurance. She has a funny personality and is so happy to see us in the morning and wriggles to get petted and a tummy rub before going outside.

She would be a great companion dog for someone who can be home all day and have her around. When I work from home, she curls up on a dog bed by my desk and just hangs out quietly while I work. She's not a yapper or a barker.

Now that she doesn't have to be crated all the time, she is out in the house with us and sleeps in a dog bed at the foot of our bed at night. She is quiet all night long. I do crate her during the day, just because I'm not sure how she would do in the house alone, but either I or a friend, go by at lunch every day to let her out and play with her for an hour to give her a break. Otherwise, when we are there, she is out an on the sofa with us.

She is a chow hound and loves her groceries! She is very food motivated. She has put on some weight and I'm now watching what I feed her so she doesn't get too heavy. She has filled out nicely and her coat is really pretty and sleek. She knows "sit" and we are starting to work on some other commands.

We are now going for walks in the morning and she is really good on a leash. She is also good in the car and last weekend rode quietly for 3 hours out to our ranch where we spent a few days. She was happy to hang out with us and our dog and do a little exploring.
I hope that someone who doesn't want to raise a puppy, but just wants a devoted companion to keep them company, will adopt her."
