UPDATE: 10/19 @ 8:30 PM
Our sweet Zombie girl was unable to go further in her life journey. The damages sustained in what was probably a "hit by a car" scenario were very extensive, so humane euthanasia was the best option to relieve her pain. We all believe that animals with disabilities of all kinds can have a great quality of life, even if it means a shorter time with us, but we won't ever subject a soul to a lifetime of physical pain & struggles of many types just to keep us from heartache.
The Rainbow Bridge residents welcomed her with nuzzles and rubs🌈🐾

🐱🩺🩹Vetting support urgently needed for this kitten!💞❤️🩹
This poor baby, nicknamed Zombie for now, was brought into the Portales Animal Shelter 6 days ago and was THANKFULLY tagged today by Let Them Live Rescue/Amy Verder who is taking the kitten NOW to their veterinarian office, LIve Oak Animal Hospital (at 98th & Slide Rd.) in Lubbock, TX.
A local animal advocate (Kirsten P.) reached out to several rescue folks around here, and a group was formed to help this juvenile cat.
The staff at the shelter stated that the kitten was barely able to move on its hind legs but was still eating and drinking, but it actually became clear after a couple days that the kitten needed urgent medical attention.
We are currently awaiting news from Amy & her family.
ANY SIZE DONATION would be GREATLY APPRECIATED and can be called into Live Oak at (806) 794-9000.
Donations are also accepted by Let Them Live Rescue (501c3 organization, EIN # and receipt provided upon request):
