Jing- a- Lings Things was founded when I simply donated a couple of homemade toys to a local shop in Athens, OH ( Hyacinth beam) I fell in love with their resident cats so to show my feelings I decided to make them a little catnip bird toy. The owner of the shop was impressed with the toy so she offered to sell some. Turned out the customers who bought them were impressed with them too. After a sh

ort period of time my cat toy business started to grow and since my cat's name is Jing-a-Ling I decided to name my small business in honor of him. I came up with the idea of donating the proceeds to black cats when I found out that in animal shelters across the country, black cats are looked upon as unlucky, dull or plain, and are often passed over for more colorful pets for adoptions. Even worse black cats who have medical problems or ones that need surgery have a greater chance of not finding a home. As a result, they are more likely to be euthanized than any other cat because no one wants them. My Jing-a-ling is a beautiful black cat that was found on the street when he was a kitten. Ten years later he is still the best cat I could ever want. I want other people to see black cats in a different way and maybe just buying a cat toy could save one.
