I adopted your pig today. They hadn't much time left at the shelter and no one was coming.
I hadn't met them but decided it was the right choice.
I adopted your pig today and as I stared at her terrified but resilient face as she fought leaving her kennel in a crate afraid for what was to come, I saw she had perfectly manicured hooves.
I adopted your pig today and her willingness to come right up and say hi to me and to be overjoyed to find I had cucumbers and some chips for her. Bait for a stressful situation. She did so because you had properly socialized her.
I adopted your pig today. It was clear she never missed a meal and always had access to food with how gently she took snacks from my hand.
I adopted your pig today and as I unloaded her from the horse trailer into her temporary quarantine pen I cried knowing how much you had to have loved your pig and how hard leaving her at the shelter must have been for you.
I cried at her trusting soul because her trust had never been broken by you. I adopted your pig today. She is now safe in our farm sanctuary. She was lavished with belly scratches, I wiped her eyes clean of her tears, and set out her comfy bed. I adopted your pig today. You did a great job with her. I hope you one day you see this and know she is safe. That you can forgive yourself for having to leave her. I know that must have been a last possible option for you. Because I can tell how much you loved her. I adopted your pig today. She is okay. Better than okay. She's on a whole new adventure.
