I discovered felt about 5 years ago and fell in love with its incredible versatility as a textile medium. It's the oldest fabric in the world, and yet it continues to evolve, as people experiment with its potential. It can be sheer and gossamer light or solid enough to build yurts out of. It's a natural, sustainable material, requiring nothing but animal fibre, soap, warm water and lots of elbow g

rease. But most of all - it's beautiful! I was brought up in West Yorkshire, where wool is woven into the social, economic, natural and architectural history of the area. Feltmaking gives me a deep connection with that heritage and material.
