Our family lost one of our older members today. Honey, one beautiful souled quarter horse, died in pasture today. We aren’t sure yet what caused the sudden death of Honey, and no matter, the pain is real, especially for Abbigaile, since she was a mainstay in her early riding. Sending all the white light tonight to her! Xoxo! Rest In Peace Honey! You will be missed!

The Homestead is covered in falling leaves and cold wet weather. We enjoyed a gorgeous colorful fall. The trees at peak were amazingly full of all the beautiful colors of fall. Hoping the leaves that have fell will make their way off the grass so I don't have to rake or cut. One thing about this established Homestead is that we do get to enjoy all 4 seasons.

It is Halloween time at the Homestead. Granny loved her yearly TRUNK OR TREAT. She was so excited to give out over 120 pieces of candy out of the boot of her car alone!

This is our home and every summer we have numerous bird nests that the birds make and then lay their eggs. After several weeks they usually hatch out approximately 4 or 5 baby birds in every nest. This year we had 2 nests on our front porch at the top of the columns. These nests produced 10 baby birds. Then over our laundry room window we had 2 nests that produced 8 baby bitds. Under our carport we had 2 tiny nests that produced 6 baby birds. Over our window in the livingroom we had 2 nests which produced 9 baby birds and a nest over one of our bedroom windows we had a nest that produced 5 baby birds. We were also blessed this year with the most humming birds we have ever had the pleasure of watching. I love watching these birds suspend themselves in flight and then attach each other trying to get to the water first. Yep guess we live a bored life but it is God's way of letting us see the many species of birds that he offers us to watch. Plus the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets from our back porch are something to behold.

Some really wonderful things have happened at this homestead. Our garden this year was amazing. Our wonderful neighbor, Mr. Russell helped us have the best garden yet. In the past 3 months we have acquired 4 new sets of neighbors. One set from New Orleans, one from New York, one from Michigan and one from Tennessee. God is good.
