We're starting something new to help fund our rescue and continue our vital work of TNR (trap-neuter-return) for feral cats and finding homes for the friendly ones! Introducing Two Dollar Tuesday! By donating just $2, you can make a big difference in feeding, spaying/neutering, housing, and covering vet visits for the cats in our care.

Just imagine—if each of our followers gave $2, it could cover 50% of our monthly food bill, or an entire month of flea medication, or three vet visits, or spay/neuter procedures for five friendly cats, helping them get one step closer to adoption.

Please consider joining us this Tuesday and donating $2 to support the cats. Together, we can make a huge impact!

Below are the links we use for monetary donations, remember 100% goes to helping the cats!

Today marks a milestone as Momma and her four teens embark on a new journey to their permanent residence. Toosweet and Combat will be relocating today, while three more will follow suit within the next day or two. While their departure will be deeply felt, I acknowledge that this change will provide them with greater space to grow and an expansive catio to enjoy. Having been the first feline family to occupy my rescue room, Momma and her four kittens were the driving force behind its establishment. As a result, their daily presence will be sorely missed.

All proceeds will support Avenue Katz Rescue! The prize can be picked up at our rescue room or delivered locally. For those not local they can be shipped out for a small delivery fee. Enough of this weather, come on spring!!!

Although I have accommodated my rescue partner's past withdrawals, I will no longer accept this pattern of behavior, which places undue burdens on me and compromises the welfare of our fur babies. Given my disability and financial reliance on Doordash to sustain my rescue, I am soliciting volunteers to share the workload. Specifically, I need assistance in our cat room, located in Ormond off Fleming Ave, for one hour during morning hours (between 7am-10am) and one hour during evening hours (between 4pm-7pm). Responsibilities include monitoring temperature, engaging with cats, sweeping, maintaining litter, and providing nourishment. I will maintain a presence throughout the day to guarantee the cats' well-being. A few volunteers needed please!

Last night posed significant challenges for our colony, as they struggled with fear and cold. We had taken steps to secure the carport with tarps and anchors, but the wind was too powerful. I remained with the colony, attempting to reinforce the tarp and minimize noise until 2am . Unfortunately, my last sighting of Leo was before dark, and my subsequent efforts to retrieve him were unsuccessful. At 7am, I conducted another check on the colony, but Leo was still absent. Typically, Leo would occupy the triple bunk bed beside our front door, cuddled up against Marsha. Each evening I would tuck him in, and he would give me a goodnight kiss. I'm struggling to articulate this, but Leo tragically failed to survive the night. I discovered him deceased in the middle bunk bed. While his age is unknown, he exhibited a limp, which we believe was caused by arthritis and old age. Leo was an amazing cat that just wanted love and love he got! He loved to be dressed up and get his photo taken and be the center of attention! Leo’s passing has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and his memory will forever inspire our mission. He was more than just a colony cat—he was family, a symbol of resilience and love, and a reminder of why we do what we do. Though his time with us was far too short, he brought immeasurable joy and left behind a legacy of love that will never fade. In his honor, we are more determined than ever to find better solutions for our colony and every cat in our care. We will keep striving, keep fighting, and keep loving, because they all deserve a safe, warm place to call home.

Leo, you will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for trusting us, for the kisses, the cuddles, and the joy you brought into our lives. Rest peacefully, sweet boy. You were so deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.

Going through some old photos and I found a picture of EBs dad. Stripes was one of the first two cats to seek refuge in my yard. About 5 years ago I met Stripes, and unfortunately 3 years ago he vanished. Who would have thought I would be taking care of his son 5 years later! Yes EB is a big boy, we try to get him to exercise daily.

We have arrived at a pivotal moment, with only three cans of wet food remaining in our inventory. Our daily usage of wet food falls within the range of 10 to 12 cans. While we do combine wet food with dry to stretch our supplies, our senior cats and those suffering from stomatitis are wholly dependent on wet food. Thus, we are in dire need of at least two cases of wet food. We would be extremely thankful for any contributions.

We Need Your Help to Keep Our Cats Fed and Safe!

At the start of December, we began much-needed repairs for our future Cat Sanctuary, including replacing subfloors and fixing kitchen pipes. We saved up for this, but the repairs quickly went over budget. With the floors wide open, we had to act fast to address urgent issues. Unfortunately, we had to dip into our emergency food and litter funds to keep things on track. To make things harder, a few extra mouths to feed showed up this month, and now we’re running dangerously low on food and litter.

We’re reaching out for your help to ensure all our cats make it to the New Year without going hungry. Normally, we’re the ones lending a helping hand, but today we’re asking for yours.

You can support us by purchasing items from our
