Say hello to Skye! 💜
Skye has been a part of the Passionately Pets team for about a year now. What drew Skye to working for Passionately Pets was her desire to provide high-quality care to pets. She loves engaging and bonding with the animals. One of the many wonderful qualities that she brings to the team and the pets that she works with is her ability to connect with even the most shy or anxious cats. Sky has one black cat, his name is Pipixia, and his favorite things are food and scratching boards.

Outside of work, Skye enjoys relaxing at home, building lego, and deep cleaning her home. Her favorite local restaurant is Andy’s Pizza and the last thing she got delivered to her house was paper cat litter! Skye hopes to travel to Korea some day and try their traditional food.

Make sure to keep your furry friends safe from all of the candy this holiday, especially chocolate! We hope you enjoy this time and are possibly able to dress up your pet in a cute costume! 🐾

Don’t be fooled by the cooler weather, it’s important to remember that fleas and ticks can remain active in the fall, especially in wooded or grassy areas!

We have three tips for you to keep your pets safe and healthy this fall:
🐾 Make sure your pet stays on their flea and tick preventative all year.

🐾 Continually check your pets for ticks, especially after going for a walk or running around outside. Check your indoor pets as well because the pests can find a way to get in!

🐾 Pay attention to any scratching or itching, as that could be a sign of fleas.

Meet Indy! 🐾
Indy is such a smart boy and loves going through commands and rubbing in the grass. He absolutely loves balls and is an expert ball finder, especially while we are on our walks. Sometimes it seems like he pulls them out of thin air! He also loves to go on the swings in the park and will jump up and sit on us to go for a snuggly ride. Plus, he has therapy dog training so he’s incredibly well behaved. He’s such a sweet boy and we love getting to care for him.

Paws in the Park, presented by Amazon, returns to Oronoco Bay Park in Old Town Alexandria on Sunday, October 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and promises to be an even bigger paw-ty than previous years! This annual event celebrates northern Virginia’s love for animals and offers attendees a one-of-a-kind family and pet-friendly FREE festival featuring vendors, lots of adoptable animals, and a variety of entertainment.

Along with many local artisans, nonprofits, and animal-focused businesses, Paws in the Park will host food and beverage vendors, too. Attendees can pack a picnic and also savor food and drinks from local cideries, breweries, wineries, bakeries, food trucks, and more while enjoying the day’s entertainment and shopping.

If you’ve been looking to add a furry member to your family, the 10+ animal welfare organizations and rescues in Rescue Row will have adoptable animals available for attendees to meet.

The first 1,000 attendees at Paws in the Park will receive a one-of-a-kind swag bag. Paws in the Park is open to leashed, well-behaved pets of all types. Proceeds from Paws in the Park benefit the AWLA, which supports homeless animals in Alexandria, as well as pets and people throughout the community. Sponsorships are still available, and more

With years of experience from dog walking in high school to volunteering at animal shelters, Beni brings a passion for building connections with animals. Beni also is an artist working on a 3D modeling and animation portfolio! 🎨💻

Fun fact: Beni has a black cat named Nori who loves playing with Q-tips 🖤✨
When Beni is not caring for pets, she loves hiking, snorkeling, and free diving! 🏞️🌊

We’re thrilled that you can join us on Sunday, October 6th from 12-4pm as Port City Brewing Company will be hosting it’s annual “Dogtoberfest” celebration.

This free outdoor festival will feature a whole host of dog friendly activities to celebrate everyone’s furry friends. Activities range from pet portraits, nail trims, an agility course, and a variety of local pet themed vendors and organizations.

Open to all. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome to attend (no flexi/retractable leashes please).

Stop by at our table to say hello to friendly faces and clients! You can also hear all about our services, and we will have some treats to purchase as well! 🦴
