Adopted! 🎄♥️🎄♥️

Our Puppy sisters, Kira and Mishka found their forever family and we could not be happier than we are with their new family! Mom, dad, 2 adult daughters and 2 male Siberian Husky older brothers to show them the way!

This is an experieced Husky family (30 yrs) who will give them the structure and amazing life that they need and deserve. These sisters were found with six other siblings and another rescue took two of the puppies leaving six still needing homes. Lucille‘s friend had the six puppies and we offered to take the two adorable females. They were approximately two months old when we got them and they are absolutely stunning. Both girls were finally spayed on December 1 and because we had listed them prior to spay day, their new family picked them up the next day.

Huge thank you to Lucille and Marc for being willing to go outside of their comfort zone by brining 2 very high energy, big breed puppies into their home. I understand that the p*e and p**p was quite impressive and of great abundance! 😆 Lucille has made me promise to tell her no the next time she gets an idea to take on two large breed puppies… I told her I would try but we know how that goes with both Lucille and I. 🤣 We are easily swayed by the cuteness factor that comes along with puppies!

We wish our beautiful girls a long life of love and happiness! 🎄♥️🎄

R.I.P. Eunice 💔🌈💔🌈💔

It’s been a tough year for our rescue and for our little senior dogs! We’ve lost 13 of them this year and it never gets easier when one leaves us.

We rescued Eunice in July of this year; a tiny and frail little 16 yrs old senior with a scruffy coat and an adorable face! We hoped to have more time with her, but her passing came on very quickly. We were not prepared. She had been thrown away by her family, and was scheduled to be euthanized, but we were able to get her out of the shelter in time. She received unconditional love, dignity and care from her foster mom, Kimberly and her final months were happy ones.

From her mom Kimberly; “Eunice was just a fragile little angel that blessed us for a short time. I was honored to have her & love her for her brief time with us. I will miss her little hopping around & squeaky noises she made when she needed something. Just heartbroken, I wasn’t ready for her to leave us yet. 💔😭🌈”

I am grateful to Kimberly for her ability to take these little deserving seniors into her home and her heart, knowing their time together can be brief. A huge thank you to her for all she does!

Rest peacefully and run free Eunice ♥️ we love you ♥️

R.I.P. Jersey 💔🌈💔🌈

We rescued our loving and sweet Jersey in February of 2023, nearly 3 years ago. At just 7 years old, he was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer and the decision was made that he would he would live it whatever time he had left with Lucille and Marc as a forever foster. In addition to he liver cancer, he had a large mass on his leg as well which continued to grow. Just earlier this week, Lucille and I were on the phone and we’re speaking about Jersey and how we were so am amazed that he has been living this long with terminal cancer. I think that speaks to the type of care that Lucille has given to him over the time he has been with us. He was such a happy dog, and he was absolutely adored by his family.

From Lucille:

Jersey has been a FIXED SYMBOL in our home for well over two years. Three perhaps ? He was diagnosed with liver cancer almost 3 years ago and he overcame each health issue brought on by his failing body. The last few weeks of his life were the happiest. A young female dog came in as a foster; Jersey fell in love with her ♥️ Both were crated together. He could not handle the fact that sometimes she needed a break from him 🥺 She came to understand that her role was to be Jerseys companion. We decided to hold off on any adoption inquiries regarding her and last night and through today, SUGAR, Jerseys sweetheart, is mourning him as well . She has not eaten nor is interested in leaving that special crate home to her and Jersey. I found him late yesterday afternoon slumped on the ground. He did not return to the back door along with the other dogs and it’s apparent that he had a stroke. This gentle senior whose past owners threw him away will be terribly missed. 💔 Run free precious boy. I hope that someday you and Sugar will be reunited. ♥️

Run free and rest peacefully Jersey ♥️♥️♥️♥️

R.I.P. Junie 💔🌈🌈💔

Her foster mom, Kimberly, called her Junie Bug and she was loved and cared for these last many months since her rescue. Her illness presented very quickly and she passed just as quickly. It’s always a shock how fast an animal can go from checking the corners for missed treats, to being very ill and ultimately passing without much notice or time to prepare to say goodbye-bye.

Kimberly takes these advanced seniors knowing their time will be limited and she gives them the love and dignity they deserve and they don’t pass alone. I will never understand abandoning an animal due to age or illness - when they need you the most, but sadly the shelters are full of these deserving seniors who deserve better.

Run free and rest peacefully Junie! You were loved ♥️♥️♥️♥️

PAWSITIVE TAILS WITHOUT BORDERS

Animals know no borders. The dog and cat overpopulation issue plague both sides of the US and Mexico border. STDs are diseases endemic in the border towns of Mexico and the US. PTR is committed to making investment in spay/neuter clinics on both sides of the border, assist on a case by case basis with the medical cancer treatments of dogs and cats who have been exposed to these diseases due to lack of spay and neutering. We have provided food, nutritional supplements and basic needs for several dogs in the Tijuana area, who later come to foster in the US as we seek long term loving homes for them under PTR's umbrella.
