Every Creature Counts was a no-kill dog and cat rescue organization located in Fort Lupton, Colorado. From 1992 to 2017, Every Creature Counts rescued over 50,000 cats and dogs, and spayed and neutered many more.

As we enter spring and Easter approaches, I want to remind you that almost ALL Easter plants are toxic to pets. Easter lilies are beautiful but they should not be in your home if you own a cat or dog. Please research the plants that you bring into your home. Easter plants cause many poisonings!
⚠️NO LILLIES FOR KITTIES ( other flowers too but just focusing on these since Easter is close) ⚠️I HAVE NO FLOWERS SINCE MANY MAKE THEM SICK EVEN IF THEY’RE NOT DEADLY!⚠️
How CUTE are Eyeball and Maude? Two former street cats (Houston & Denver), these two semi-feral cats have found each other and fallen in love!
They are very sweet once they get to know you and they love to play and sleep with each other. We would love to find a home for this newly and especially before Valentine's Day!

Mattie showed up on a farm area outside of North Platte around March 5. He seemingly fell from the sky, so it's likely - he was dumped. Super frustrating and sad, considering all the local resources North Platte have to offer :(
Well, the kitties who lived on that farm were very mean to him, so the homeowner took him to the shelter, and posted on Lost Paws, just incase.
As suspected, no one claimed this intact male, flea infested, extremely matted cat. He was a mess and needed our help, so we pulled him for rescue.
Mattie went to the vet where he was fully vetted, and then given an adorable lion cut. He was matted from his ears, all the way around his neck. His sides, armpits, kitty parts and belly were also severely matted and filled with stickers, so anytime he walked, the matts pulled his skin and the stickers poked into him. Poor guy was a disaster, but one little haircut and he was a brand new man!
After a short recovery, he came to FUR and it's been an absolute love fest ever since. He seriously has no faults. That's why it's so weird to think he was just abandoned like he was... Makes no sense. He loves everyone, everything and is just an A++++ kitty cat!
We all have nothing but positive things to say about him and truly can't wait to find the home that will cherish him forever and ever and ever! ❤️

🐱 Mattie loves people. He's been great with kids of all ages and Men and Women alike.
🐱 Mattie loves to play and is very intelligent. He loves electronicsl toys, wands, tubes - you name it! He isn't overly high energy though and has plenty of low key snuggling in him! He likes his cardboard floor scratcher the most.
🐱 Mattie really is very easy to be with. He's just a normal kitty cat who is so so so sweet and he is so grateful to be where he is! He is more of a "tree dweller" than a "bush dweller" and likes to explore up and down and all around!
🐱 Mattie is going to be a long haired cat, so he needs regular brushing, professional grooming or haircuts as he grows out. He is good for all of it :)
🐱The perfect home? A stable, loving family or owner who likes to play with their cat, has lots of time for affection, pets and love...

Uschi is in need of a home! She is a 10-year-old miniature poodle and weighs about 4lbs. Her owner sadly passed away and she was left without a place. Her new home will need to be aware that she is on seizure medication and will most likely be for the rest of her life so she will need to be kept up to date on medications.
