Almost Home Animal Sanctuary Almost Home Animal Sanctuary is located in Limeklin PA. It is a 501c3 private rescue group with a love for every type of Mastiff.

Although we specialize in Mastiffs, we will work with any breed of dog. Check our links for adoptable dogs and cats too. WHY ADOPT FROM ALMOST HOME ANIMAL SANCTUARY? By providing each animal with an Almost Home, we care for each pet in a home environment. We feel that this benefits the foster pets and potential forever homes. Each animal receives one-on-one attention and affection, while we get to observe the pets in a true household. We are therefore able to address and report real-life issues.

Do you wanna build a snowman 🎶❄️ picture taken immediately before Koda beheaded the snowman.

7 years ago this teddy bear of a dog was adopted by a truly wonderful family who worked very hard to learn how to best handle Koda and transition him into their home. All their hard work paid off exponentially and they have had a beautiful relationship with Koda ever since. What a difference working with AHAS makes!

Please join us in sending the Nastar Family condolences after losing their girl Izzy. Izzy’s mom’s beautiful tribute and pics are below….

We adopted Izzy in 2014 over 10 years ago. Wyatt Nastar and I drove 6 hours there and then back to get her. She came complete with her bed and a jolly ball. We would have 3 of these jolly balls over the years. It was an extension of herself and helped with her anxiety.
The boys were 10 and 11. This girl was their first love and Izzy gave her whole heart to them. She quickly learned who her people were and always knew where they were in the house or the yard. She guarded this house faithfully taking her job very seriously. If you were the Big Brown truck or Amazon, good luck getting close.
While a guard dog, once she knew you, you were a part of her pack.
Things you may not know about Izzy.
She always did better with a toy in her mouth. She was a 100lb leaner. She had a massive tongue, but gave the most gentle kisses. She was terrible at catching anything. She played the best defense in any game in the yard, especially street hockey. She sucked at chasing squirrels/bunnies. She hated having her pic taken. While she didn't love other dogs, she tolerated usually. She was a a bad ass. She always tried to herd people or the horses in the yard.
The final decision has always fallen to me. I struggled for days. It's terrible trying to make that final call, but then you know. At 11, her body was failing her and we had to say goodbye. Quality of life takes a turn and then it's not about us. The worst is seeing your adult boys in pain as well. This is a big hit to our family and it will take a while to get over.
We had as good of an experience as possible with https://petsatpeacevetcare.com/ coming to our home. I highly recommend this if you've ever considered euthanasia at home. Less stress for all.
Izzy was one of the good ones. Rest easy big girl. May you be pain-free and have all the toys & balls to yourself in Jolly-ball land. Our hearts are broken.
We love you and will miss you huge. 🌈😢💔

Do your pets prefer to play in the snow or cuddle up in blankets??? Pickle doesn’t see a reason to leave the deck after eating a few bites of snow. Milo, Murphy, and Penny had a blast!! And Scotch loves a soft warm bed the most. ❄️
