OUR STORY

Brush Creek Ranch was founded over 30 years ago in the beautiful Sandhills of Nebraska. Here at Brush Creek, we are determined to maintain the western tradition and heritage of ranching by raising and riding Old Foundation Quarter Horses.

With Old Foundation bloodlines our horses are versatile to any job that may arise on the ranch. We spend countless hours researching and studying the horses to find the best heritage, skeletal structure, and temperament for the job.

Brush Creek Ranch is focused on breeding American Quarter Horses that maintain the Old Foundation bloodlines that started it all. A number of our active stallions are bred with no less than 98% Old Foundation heritage. Our stallions are handled frequently and trained to be respectful and level-headed. We have even used a few around the ranch to move and sort cattle.

About Old Foundation Quarter Horses

Old Foundation Quarter Horses was born from the need for an all around ranch horse. Brush Creek Ranch was founded 30 years ago, and could not find horses that met their rigorous standards of what a horse should be. Today, Old Foundation Quarter Horses pride themselves on raising quality quarter horses with some of the oldest bloodlines around. “Before you ride into the future...take a look at the past” Old Foundation Quarter Horses are derived from the original working horse that can go all day and do it all from sorting to roping to pulling a cart.

Offspring are all out of Old Foundation Quarter Horse’s ranch raised studs: Mr. Blackburn 062, Poco Blackburn Pine and Mr. Poco Blakburn 242.

Brush Creek Ranch is nestled away in the Sandhills of Nebraska, focusing on a cow/calf operation. The bloodlines of this herd trace back to the oldest straight bred Angus herd.
