🐥Layer chicks for sale!🐥

We have a selection of Speckled Sussex, Bielefelder, and Black Polish laying hens for sale. (The guys with the fluffy head feathers are the Black Polish hens!) These breeds were selected for their friendly, docile natures and superb egg-laying. Our chicks have been handled quite a bit, so they are very friendly and social! Perfect for a small backyard coop.

Welsummers are just a force to be reckoned with, and I can honestly say without any hesitation that I will always keep this breed in my flock until the end of time.🤩

Here are some reasons I enjoy having Welsummers in my flock:

🐓They are friendly, intelligent and easy to care for.

🐓Average lifespan can range 6-12 years.

🐓They don’t always go broody but when they do they make excellent mothers.

🐓Roosters tend to be friendly and do well in a mixed flock.

🐓Extremely hardy and do well in both hot and cold climates.

🐓They lay around 150-200 large brown speckled eggs yearly, although pullets may start laying later than some breeds at around 6 months.

🐓Welsummers are active, inquisitive chickens that enjoy foraging and are one of the best breeds for free ranging.

🐓Their multi-color plumage pattern makes them less likely to attract predators.

Welsummers are a wonderful addition to any mixed backyard flock and I cannot recommend them enough. Do you keep Welsummers?

If you are choosing your flock based on egg colors, and some do . . . you can use this as a guide. Although, keep in mind that genetics play a role in the color of eggs so even though you choose a particular breed based off egg color, your egg colors may vary slightly.
