Last year, we randomly assigned this day to be both Pica and Rusty's birthday, since we didn't know either one. We had cake and celebrated together, not knowing RP's first "birthday" would be his last.

I was sitting here at work, and out of nowhere, my phone flickered and my background picture changed to his sweet smiling face. When I picked my phone up to examine it closer, the picture changed back to Pica and Odin.

I know it's silly, and I know this was a phone glitch of some sort, but I'm going to pretend it was my sweet old man saying hello and letting me know he's okay.

Happy "birthday," sweet Rusty Pants. You are missed every day.
