Again the hugest thank you to everyone who donated recently

As mentioned we were able to pay off our debts at the vets but sadly only have an extra £120 after the bills were paid. Which is obviously not enough moving forward.

So with this, coupled with a few other personal factors, I am very sorry to say that the Cat's Whiskers Rescue will now be permanently closed.

We have just one cat left in our care, Arthur, who will be looking for a home soon.

Thank you all for your support over the years. Im hoping that going forward we can use our following to help other rescues

On Tuesday we were about to clear out vet bills and paid £1500 in total. Having a zero balance at the vets is a huge huge weight off our shoulders

Happy new year to all our supporters!!

Apologies for the radio silence, we have taken some time out to really think about what we want to do moving forward with the rescue.

Sadly financially nothing has improved for us. We start the year closed to new intake, ignoring the pleas for help and with over £1000 outstanding at the vets (and with the knowledge that vet costs are due to rise!)

Our last appeal didn't gain much support, so this really is a last effort before we call it a day and close for good.

This would be absolutely heartbreaking. We have worked ourselves to the bone over the years.
The team has helped hundreds and hundreds of cats into forever homes, spent countless hours trapping, in the vets, transporting, fundraising and home checking.

We have delighted in our rehabilitation work, lost sleep hand rearing, welcomed new lives into the world and cried as we held the cats we couldn't help and said our final goodbyes.

We've been scratched, bitten, hospitalised from the injuries inflicted but we've also been cuddled, purred at, rubbed up against and kissed!

So our last attempt to save something really special is here.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Sadly we have had to make the difficult decision to close our doors to any new cats.

This comes at a time where the rescue world is under more pressure than ever before with abandoned, unwanted and neglected animals, so we really don't want to have to. But until we can clear our debts and have a bit of a buffer in the bank account it would be wrong to take any more cats in

Our jumble sale recently was fantastic but every penny went straight to our vet bills, and we still have over £1,400 outstanding.

Any help to enable us to open up again would be so gratefully received.

Arthur is still with us. He's certainly got his paws under the table!

His skin condition is proving to be a challenge. Fortunately skin scrapes have come back negative, he's on steroids currently to try to relieve the itch... With moderate effect.

Hopefully he will start to improve soon as he will make someone a fantastic friend!

You know what that means, it's payday pound

We have less than £100 in our bank account, and £1500 in debt to the vets. The reality is until we can clear the debt we can't help any more cats

£1 doesn't cover much but with 6,000 followers imagine if everyone gave just £1!
