Today to***co addiction represents 1.1 billion users worldwide and kills more than 8 million of them every year, 1.2 million of whom are non-smokers.
Smoking is not just a danger to your health, but also to the people around you and especially to our dearest friends: our pets. If you smoke, you may cause your dog to develop cancer by inhaling smoke from your cigarette. Long-nosed breeds develop cancer of the nose and sinuses more frequently, while flat-faced breeds are more at risk for lung cancer. Cats, which groom themselves daily by licking their fur, may ingest ni****ne, tar, and other toxic substances that cause mouth cancer. Think of them!

In 2024, the letter ‘V’ is in the spotlight! 🥳 Did you know that pets’ names follow an annual alphabetically-ordered roster ? This system exists so that we can easily retrace their genealogy. Pets born this year will have names beginning with V. No inspiration? Here are our favorites:
🐶 National Purebred Dog Day, May 1, celebrates the heritage, diversity, and predictability of the purebred dog. Each breed is a living legacy of the culture that created it for a reason, each breed indelibly etched in that culture’s history just as surely as its music, art, and language.
Historically, purebred dogs have worked alongside their people and provided them companionship while serving as guide dogs, service dogs, conservation dogs, livestock guardians, search and rescue dogs, police dogs, canine soldiers serving by the sides of our military men and women, and ultimately guardians of family, home, and hearth. ❤

Cats have a specialized collarbone, called the "floating collarbone" or "free-floating clavicle" that allows them to fit through tight spaces and land gracefully on their feet when they fall? This unique adaptation, along with their flexible spine, helps cats twist their bodies in mid-air and often land on their feet, earning them the reputation of being incredibly agile and graceful creatures. 😻

Daarom lanceerden we Mopets in 2018.

In January 2012, we decided to adopt a dog. We therefore visited a nearby shelter. This is how Gus - an adorable 11 month old Münsterländer - became a member of our family. With Gus, it was love at first sight, but we soon realised that love alone wasn’t enough to raise a dog.
While we could always contact a vet with any health-related issues, many other questions quickly arose in relation to training, growth and diet, among others. Questions that required lengthy research before finding the relevant answers. Approaching holidays were also a source of anxiety with the difficulty of finding a good dog sitter. While you can trust your own dog, the same cannot necessarily be said for people.
Something was missing - the support of a community that we could trust and that loved animals, as much as we loved Gus. Dedicated people who could give us genuine advice. The need for such a community became increasingly obvious when we had to move house for work reasons. From a house in the country... to an apartment in the city. Because for us, the idea of putting Gus in a shelter was unthinkable.
This is why we launched Mopets in 2019. A unique platform where animal lovers can come together and help each other.
